Another busy week for Offaly Civil Defence which included.

🔷🔶Medical and logistical support at the Blackthorn music festival hosted by Gracefield GAA.✅

🔷🔶Medical and logistical support for the Ashling Murphy 4miler in Tullamore last Sunday ✅

🔷🔶Upgrade at HQ of our medical stores by volunteers.✅

🔷🔶 EMT OSCE exams completed by one of our Volunteers, waiting on the results now 🙏🙏✅

🔷🔶CFRA - Recertification Training course today in HQ . ✅

🔷🔶 Many thanks to all our Volunteers and the support of Instructors in delivering these skills to our volunteers crews. ✅

We had a very busy week in Offaly Civil Defence.

🔷🔶Missing person search, and a successful outcome.✅

🔷🔶 Upskilling and information sharing with EMTs and Paramedics✅

🔷🔶 Training and preparation with EMT student in advance of OSCE exams. ✅

🔷🔶 Offaly Athletics, Ferbane AC 5km run. ✅

🔷🔶Darknesses into light event in Rhode Medical and Logistical support on the night✅

🔷🔶Advance planning and preparation along with Medical and Logistical support for the Offaly County Council - National Bike week event 🚴🚴‍♀️along the Grand Canal from Edenderry to Shannon Harbour. ✅

🔶🔷 Many thanks, to our dedicated volunteer crews for you assistance and support. All in a week supporting # local communities across County Offaly. ✅✅

Last week a number of our volunteers completed the new National Bike Training Course at our HQ in Tullamore.

Thanks to our Instructors Bob and Liz for organising this training in advance of a busy period of events across the County. The bike unit can deliver basic life support at events in County Offaly.

Yesterday evening Birr Gardai activated Offaly Civil Defence to to a missing person search operation on the outskirts of Birr.

Our search Responders and support crews along with a search team and Drone team from Laois were tasked to the area.

Following discussion with AGS, and concern for the missing persons wellbeing Rescue 115 was dispatched from Shannon to provide further cover and assistance to the operation. Others supports were a number of search dogs from SARDA.

Thankfully shortly after 3 am the missing person was located approx. 1.5 km from her home by the dedicated search teams and the local community and family members were extremely grateful when the good news was conveyed to the family.

Many Thanks to the team at Edenderry Fire Station for the invitation to attend the TY information day for local students.

Our ACDO Bob Flynn was in attendance along with the local Community first responder group from Edenderry and surrounding areas.

Great team work by both units last night on the Slieve Blooms .

Last night volunteers from Laois and Offaly responded to calls from An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly and South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association for 4 missing walkers on the Slieve Blooms. The missing persons were located safe and well by CD teams and brought back out to safety.
