There are still a few places left on our drawing session with architect Nicki Cloonan in Tullamore. The session is open to artists, architects and engineers,art groups and interested people to observe the architectural details of Tullamore. Each session will include an end of day critique. Talk on ‘A Space for Contemporary Architecture’ by Yvonne Farrell

A lecture on contemporary architecture by Yvonne Farrell of Grafton Architects will highlight examples of infill projects, reuse and mews projects and discuss how contemporary architecture can assimilate built heritage and bring new life.

Yesterday was the last day of the NS Engage with Architecture workshops. Thanks to all the teachers and students who participated. The children did a fantastic job coming up with creative solutions for unused buildings in their locality. Projects included a variety of designs from recreation centres to chemists, cafes, B&B’s and old style sweet shops. All will be on view at an upcoming exhibition. Details to follow...

Artists on Architecture exhibition, curated by Oonagh Young will open on Feb 20th 7pm at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre but will be bilocated with some of the works also showing in Aras an Chontae. 'De-fragmented Roma' by Eva Bachman is one of the works seclected alongside those by national and local artists
