Who makes sport happen? Everyone.

From referees, umpires, judges and technical officials to participants, coaches and volunteers, everyone arrives, prepares and contributes to the sport they love. Officials are not outside sport; they are an essential part of the community that brings it to life.

Sport is built by a community of people who all play an important part in making it happen.

Every sport. Every person. Every time.

Every week, officials across Ireland give their time, experience and commitment to help sport happen.

In this campaign, we hear directly from them about their role, their experiences and why respect matters across every sport and at every level.

Because sport works best when everyone feels part of it.

📚Play packs now available to borrow from Offaly Libraries.

's Community & Culture Department, in partnership with Offaly Libraries and Offaly Sports Partnership is delighted to launch a new Play Pack Loan Scheme giving families and communities across Offaly free access to play and activity equipment.

🏫 The Play Packs are now available to borrow from Tullamore, Birr and Edenderry Libraries using your library card. Library membership is free and there is no charge to borrow a Play Pack. Families and groups interested in borrowing a pack can contact or call into their participating library to check availability and borrowing arrangements.

Building on the success of the Playful Communities initiative in Offaly, the new scheme is designed to make it easier for children, families and communities to create opportunities for play, physical activity and connection in their own local areas.

🧸 Each Play Pack contains a selection of games, toys and sporting equipment suitable for children and is ideal for use by families, community groups, residents’ associations, street parties, community play days and local events.

The packs provide a simple and accessible way for communities to organise fun and active play without needing to purchase their own equipment.

The Playful Communities initiative has already supported communities throughout Offaly to create welcoming opportunities for children and families to come together, be active and enjoy their local spaces. Making Play Packs available through local libraries will allow this work to continue throughout the year and make resources available to even more communities.

The Play Pack Loan Scheme is an Offaly County Council Community & Culture initiative, delivered in partnership with Offaly Libraries and Offaly Sports Partnership, with support through Healthy Offaly.
