Sport has a unique power in bringing people from all walks of life together, breaking down barriers and creating friendships that cross cultures and languages. Through shared movement and experiences, we can build stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone belongs.

To mark , our Sanctuary Runners group will be meeting tomorrow in the heart of Letterkenny at Letterkenny parkrun with tea & coffee afterwards upstairs in the wonderful, fully accessible TheVestry Cairde le Cheile.

While this week offers a special opportunity to celebrate inclusion, our group meet every second week throughout the year creating a welcoming space to make new friendships, celebrate all cultures and belonging.

Whether you’re walking, jogging, wheeling, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines, everyone is welcome!

Together, we run for solidarity, friendship and respect 💙💛

We had the best weekend down at the Cork City Marathon 🎉

A huge congratulations to all our Sanctuary Runners Ireland from all over Ireland who took part including our very own Victor, who smashed the 10K! 👏

The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing from start to finish, and it was incredible to see a sea of blue runners making their way through the city.

A big thank you to Cork City for making us all feel so welcome. The support, energy, and community spirit were truly amazing.

🌍 BIG NEWS!

Sanctuary Runners’ Global Solidarity Run has received the top “Communicating Europe” Award and a €10,000 grant from the Department of Foreign Affairs 💛

On October 11th, we go again, with runs and walks planned across 100+ countries worldwide in solidarity with refugees!!!

What a brilliant weekend at Relay For Life Donegal 💛

It was wonderful to see so many people coming together with such kindness, positivity and community spirit. We were delighted to join in and share the day with so many amazing people and for such an important cause.

A heartfelt thank you to all the organisers, volunteers and everyone who took part! It takes so much hard work to make an event like this happen, and it really showed. The welcome, support and atmosphere throughout the day were incredible.

We’re proud to have been part of it and already looking forward to next year 💜

What an incredible day we had yesterday at the Northwest 10K! 💛

A massive congratulations to our amazing Sanctuary Runners Hopsy, Menad, Seamus, and Victor who took part and did us all proud!

We also want to give a huge shout-out to the wonderful organisers, all the amazing volunteers, and everyone who lined the streets to cheer all the participants on. You are all legends! The support and atmosphere about Letterkenny yesterday was brilliant!

Moments like this remind us what community is all about ✨

This year’s One Donegal Social Inclusion Week will be running from from 9th–17th April 2026, with a wide range of activities for everyone in the community to get involved in.

As part of the week, Letterkenny Sanctuary Runners will meet, as always, at Letterkenny parkrun, followed by tea and refreshments in the TheVestry Cairde le Cheile

Sanctuary Runners Ireland and the Parkrun offer a great opportunity to walk, jog, roll or run together in a friendly and supportive environment.

Whether you're looking for a bit of exercise, hoping to meet new people, explore volunteer opportunities, or simply enjoy a cup of tea and a chat, there’s something for everyone!
