The government's refusal to do the minimum to sanction Israel amounts to condoning and being complicit in Genocide, Apartheid and Ethnic Cleansing
This is not good enough, after eight years of delay, two and a half years of apartheid Israel’s livestreamed genocide in Gaza, of escalating ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank, of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs unanimously recommending the inclusion of services, of the ICJ ruling the occupation as illegal, the government is set to pass a watered down of the Occupied Territories Bill *without services*.
Micheál Martin said:"I don’t think the services side of it is implementable or viable, and the advice we have on that is fairly solid. Also legally it’s not within our capacity to do it, but even apart from that it’s just impossible to implement.”
We should be imposing *full* sanctions on Israel and ending our complicity, the Occupied Territories Bill is our obligation under international law and it must be enacted with services included.
