Our Club was delighted to welcome Pat McFadden and Geraldine Rossley from SVP,and John Curran from the We Care Food Bank to our weekly lunch today. Pat and John gave an outline of their respective organisations’ current activities, and members heard of the sterling work carried out by nearly 100 dedicated volunteers across the two charities. Both were immensely grateful for our continued support of their work. This year Rotary donated €6000 to SVP from proceeds from the Tree of Remembrance at Christmas 2025 and €2,250 to the We Care Food Bank from proceeds of our Winter Woolie Warmer 5k in November 2025.
We were also pleased to welcome Gérard McCormick from Magees chemist to thank him for many years of donating toiletries for our Christmas Nursing Home visits. Gérard gave us a lovely personal account of how his family came to support this good cause and on our behalf Seamus Devine presented Gérard with a token of our appreciation.

How can you help a local school and clear out your cupboards at the same time? Bring your books in good condition to Kernans Letterkenny Golf ClubLetterkenny Rugby Club this weekend. You will be contributing to a great initiative to provide primary school children with books in September.

Please get involved in a new initiative to donate good quality books to a local school. The books can also be left in Kernans and Letterkenny Golf Club. More locations to follow!

Well done to Rotarians Paddy for organising all the cyclists for the 3 bikes that were going for the 24hrs and Ed for coordinating the stand 👏👏 Thanks to all the members who supported this brilliant team event again this year👏👏👏

Confidential Shredding Fundraiser Returns This Friday

Confidential shredding in aid of Donegal Down Syndrome will take place once again on Friday, 29th May at the Letterkenny Shopping Centre in association with United Shredding Company and the Letterkenny Rotary Club.

Members of the public are invited to bring along their confidential documents for secure shredding and watch them being shredded on site in the USL machine, all in return for a donation to Donegal Down Syndrome.

The USL unit will be located on the right-hand side of the car park near the entrance from 10.30am until 12 noon. Members of the Rotary Club will be on hand to assist the public if needed.

This valuable monthly fundraiser, held on the last Friday of every month, raised an incredible €5,750 for Donegal Down Syndrome between September and September last year.

We would once again like to sincerely acknowledge and thank Stephen and all at United Shredding Company, along with the Letterkenny Rotary Club, for their continued commitment and support in running this fantastic community fundraiser each month.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Members of the Rotary Club will be on standby to assist members of the public if needed. Letterkenny Rotary greatly appreciate your continued support of this very worthwhile project.

Congratulations to the MacCrossan family, pictured with Assistant Governor Cynthia Fuery, who were winners of the Rotary Table Quiz in Arena 7 last night, in aid of Relay for Life. €555 was raised and a big thank you to all involved.
