Donegal Hospice We provide a range of services to support people with life limiting conditions and their families and The Donegal Hospice was opened in February 2003.

It is an 8-bedded unit. All rooms are single and have en-suite shower facilities, TV, telephone, fridge and CD player/radio. The Hospice is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on specialist treatment and care. Our aim is “to provide comprehensive physical, emotional and spiritual care for individuals and families promoting the highest quality of living during life-limiting illness …"

Donegal Hospice would like to express sincere thanks to the Donegal Co Co councillors for the very generous grant received from the Development Fund Initiative Grant. This grant has helped us purchase much needed T34 SYRINGE DRIVERS. Thank you for your continued support; your help is very much appreciated by everyone at the Donegal Hospice.

Jive for June is taking place again this year with all funds going to the Donegal Hospice.

We were joined today on the Greg Hughes show by Isobel, chair of the Donegal Hospice and Jamie Sweeney who’s mother was a patient in the hospice.

Highland Radio and the Donegal Hospice have been doing Jive forJune this since June 2020.

During Covid people couldn't get out to dance and this was were jiving everywhere kicked off.

Every day at 3pm, David will play a jive song on the Jivetime and we want you to record your jive and upload it to Highland Radio Tag Highland Radio and the Donegal Hospice.

This year on the 23rd of June, the Hospice staff along with the staff and students of Little Angels School record their jive.

Also this year Tracey-Marie & Kevin at Glenalla photography have joined us and they will upload a jive a day.

To date the Donegal Hospice has raised a stunning amount of money.
In 2025, €626,000 was raised and in 2024 it raised €505,000.

In the 5 years since Jive for June started it's raised - 2 million and 6 thousand euros
The hospice is currently building an extension.The funding cost for that will be 6million.

The construction of four new apartments/bedrooms specifically designed to accommodate patients and their families
The four existing patient bedrooms will be converted to modern administrative and clinical use,

Dedicated new spaces are being built for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work services.

The project includes the redevelopment of the daycare area to resume its therapeutic models, alongside brand-new training and educational facilities for staff and the wider community.

Jamie Sweeney joined the Greg Hughes show to share his Mum’s story who attended the hospice for palliative care in January and she passed away in march.

Through his work with Fintru Jamie and other team members volunteer in the hospice. He is chair of the Fund Raising team of FinTrU, Letterkenny.

The Hospice had been their chosen Charity for 2 years.

They have raised 25,000 for the hospice over the past 2 years.
