To get Group up n running again we need a committee of atleast 6 people. We need a new Separate bank account and also our own Public liability insurance. This will take time and support to get things in place. It's really out of my control. This is due to our other umbrella groups closing. Is anyone interested in joining the committee to help get group going again? Please let me know. Thank you so much all for your help, support and patience. I feel so lost and hate not seeing you all on Friday mornings. This has been very stressful but I will Not give up as we have come to far. Any ideas for the group please message me? Please keep in touch i will share information with you as n when I get any. Thanks again all. Missing the little ones lots.

Hi it's Audrey Spearman from Gwersyllt Mombies. Unfortunately due to the other Mombies Group closing we are having to put bits in place. We Unfortunately can't open till this happens. I would just like to say a BIG thank you to all that attend the Gwersyllt Mombies Group. We meet everyone Friday 09.15-11 am Term Time only. The love and kindness we feel in the group makes me so happy and so proud of all that attend. These children make me smile and laugh so much. Thank you all for keeping the group going.

We wanted to let everyone know that Mombies will be taking a short break for the time being while we work on setting the group up with new runners.

Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to run Mombies myself, as the session time now clashes with my little one’s nursery hours. While we had hoped for a smooth handover, this pause will give us the space needed to ensure the group can continue properly and sustainably.

Mombies has meant so much to so many families, and it’s incredibly important to us that it returns in the right hands and in the right way.

Thank you all for your continued support, understanding, and kindness. We’ll keep you updated and truly hope to share positive news soon. 💛

Let’s talk about the fear no one wants to admit out loud.

The fear of calling out of work because your child is sick.
Not because you don’t want to work, but because you don’t have a backup sitter.
Because daycare won’t take them sick.
Because school sent them home.
Because family can’t help.

So you stare at your phone, sick kid on the couch, and debate whether today is the day you risk a write-up… or worse.

Parents shouldn’t have to feel anxious about choosing their child.
They shouldn’t have to rehearse excuses, apologize excessively, or brace themselves for punishment just for doing what parenting requires.

But they do.

Because many jobs don’t offer grace.
They offer warnings.
They offer attendance points.
They offer consequences.

So parents are forced into impossible choices:
Leave a sick child with no care
or miss work and risk discipline
or send them somewhere they shouldn’t be.

And then we wonder why families are burned out.
Why illness spreads.
Why parents feel constantly on edge.

This isn’t about laziness.
It’s not about “not wanting to work.”
It’s about systems that refuse to acknowledge reality.

Kids get sick.
Care isn’t always available.
And parents deserve better than punishment for showing up where they’re needed most.

No parent should be scared to take care of their sick child.

Yet here we are.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal challenges, Chrissy is no longer able to take over Monday Mombies as planned. As a result, we are once again looking for someone — or a small group of people — who may be interested in taking on the running of the group.

We would love to see Mombies continue, as it has been a lifeline for so many families. If you are interested or would like to have a conversation about what’s involved, please get in touch by dropping a comment or sending a message.
