Local government unions have rejected the 2026 pay offer and are demanding meaningful pay negotiations in a letter to employers signed by all three unions - UNISON, Unite and GMB.

UNISON are balloting members for strike action from 9 July.

Reform UK has pledged to rip up legal protections for workers and renters, handing power to bad bosses and rogue landlords.

❌ Taking away sick pay, bereavement leave and pregnancy protections.
❌ Legalising fire-and-rehire and workplace discrimination.
❌ Reintroducing "no-fault" evictions.

At Westminster, Reform would repeal the Employment Rights Act and the Equality Act. In Wales, they back pay freezes and headcount cuts.

Every one of those policies makes life harder for workers and easier for bosses.
