Our permanent base gives a relaxed opportunity for 50+ members from all parts of the West Midlands to meet weekly (including Christmas Day when it’s a Wednesday). It is this reassurance and the laidback environment which banish debilitating anxiety so allowing members to breathe, socialize and do things together with like-minded others. Our aims are to reduce isolation, self-harm, su***de, sectio
ning and hospitalisation to improve the quality of life and prospects of our growing membership by increasing their confidence and self-worth through varied activities, workshops and mentoring overseen by a small dedicated team. Immediate in-house Autism specific counselling, pre and post diagnosis, and for a range of other debilitating issues help avert depression and crisis. Members, often for the first time, find a sense of belonging and friendship boosting motivation to achieve their own personal goals whether they be remaining in or returning to education and employment, and/or living independently as well as enjoying leisure and cultural pursuits in the community that most of us take for granted.
