We’re delighted to share that our Dementia Service Manager, Kelly Reeves, will be delivering a Dementia Awareness Training Session for those living in the Wychbold area on 2nd July.

This event is being delivered collaboratively with the valued support of Councillor Rick Deller and Tonia from Droitwich CVS, helping us continue to raise awareness, improve understanding, and create more dementia-friendly communities.

The session will provide an opportunity to learn more about dementia and help reduce stigma through greater awareness and understanding. Whether you are a family member, friend, professional, volunteer, or simply interested in learning more, everyone is welcome.

Together, we can help make our communities more inclusive, compassionate, and supportive for people living with dementia and those who care for them.

Please see the poster for full details and information on how to book your place. 💙

💙 Dementia Action Week 💙

Last month, our Dementia Wellbeing Service Advisors Jo Tatham and Tanya Davies attended the Health and Wellbeing Event at Redditch Library as part of Dementia Action Week.

Being out in the local community at events like these is so important, helping us to provide information, guidance, and support to people living in the area who may be affected by dementia, whether personally, as a carer, family member, or friend.

It was lovely to speak with members of the community, raise awareness of the support available, and connect with other local services and organisations committed to improving wellbeing for all 😊

This month at the Droitwich Dementia Café, we got moving with some gentle physical activity using resistance bands! 💪😊

Resistance bands are an easy, accessible, and effective way to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility. They can be used while sitting or standing, making them suitable for a wide range of abilities.

Staying physically active is important for everyone, including people living with dementia. Regular exercise can help maintain physical health, support independence, boost mood, increase confidence, and provide valuable opportunities for social connection and fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and gave it a go! 🌟

🌸 Dementia Action Week at Malvern MCST 🌸

Last month, our Malvern MCST group enjoyed a wonderful flower arranging session, bringing creativity, conversation, and lots of smiles to the room 💐

A huge thank you to local florist Bud to Bloom for kindly donating an amazing 6 buckets of beautiful flowers for our members to enjoy. Your generosity and support are so appreciated by everyone involved ❤️

Sessions like these are a lovely reminder of the joy, connection, and sense of achievement that meaningful activities can bring for people living with dementia.

If you or someone you know may be interested in joining one of our MCST courses, please get in touch with our friendly team — we would love to hear from you 😊

This month at Hartlebury MCST, we’ve been keeping active and having lots of fun with a variety of games and activities including bowls, darts, and archery! 🎯🎳🏹

Activities like these are not only enjoyable and social, but can also provide great benefits for people living with dementia. Taking part in games that involve aiming, movement, and coordination can help to support concentration, hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and cognitive stimulation. Most importantly, they encourage confidence, laughter, connection, and a sense of achievement in a supportive environment. 💙

It’s been wonderful to see everyone getting involved, cheering each other on, and trying something new together. Sometimes it’s the simple activities that create the biggest smiles!

This month at Tenbury’s Café, our May theme was all about keeping physically active and having fun whilst doing it! 💃🕺

We were delighted to welcome Paul from PAL Fitness, who got everybody moving and grooving with smiles, laughter, and plenty of energy around the room. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in at their own pace and enjoying the moment together.

Staying physically active whilst living with a dementia diagnosis can have so many benefits, including improving mood, reducing anxiety, supporting mobility and balance, encouraging social connection, and helping people maintain independence for longer. Most importantly, activities like these bring happiness, confidence, and opportunities to simply have fun together. 💜

A huge thank you to Paul for bringing such positivity and enthusiasm to the café, we loved every minute! 😊
