A little ask ❤️ If you’re buying online anyway, could you sign up to easyfundraising and choose us?

You just go through easyfundraising when you shop with participating retailers and they give us a small donation. Doesn’t cost you anything extra, but it all adds up for us.

Today I went along to a botanical ink painting session hosted by Victoria from The Community Patch CIC at Fur Clemt 🌿

It’s not quite finished yet...I need to take the flowers off and do some fine line detailing - but I just loved giving it a go.

I’ve been to workshops where people have commented when I’ve got something wrong or haven’t done it perfectly, especially when they knew what I did for work. It has left me feeling like I wasn’t allowed to be bad at something or just be a beginner. It really knocked my confidence for a while and put me off making myself vulnerable enough to try new things.

After a bit of self reflection and a good chat with myself and a few others, I remembered that experimentation and process over perfection are at the heart of everything I stand for. So I’m taking my own advice for once and giving things a go simply because I enjoy them.

We had such a lovely, autumnal evening at our needle felting session at Lady Mabel W**e & Cocktail Bar 🍂🍄

There were toadstools, little woodland scenes and lots of lovely details. Even the cutest Highland cow with a mini mushroom beside it 🐮🍄

I love how everyone put their own spin on it. Thanks so much to everyone who came along!

Our Autumnal Needle Felting session has moved from Soul Time to Lady Mabel’s, as Soul Time is temporarily closed for refurbishment.

🐧🎄 CHRISTMAS PENGUIN PAINTING AT SHERRINGTONS! 🎄🐧
I’m really excited to add this one because LOOK AT HIM ...CUTE!

📍 Sherringtons
📅 Wednesday 25th November
⏰ 6pm–8pm

✨ Template provided, so absolutely no painting experience needed.

You can come with friends or come on your own - these sessions are always really laid back and friendly, and honestly, coming alone is completely normal. 💕

I’ve also added 6 subsidised spaces at £5 each for anyone who would otherwise struggle to afford to come, for whatever reason.

No questions asked and no explanations needed.
I really believe art and creativity shouldn’t be a luxury.

And these sessions are about so much more than just painting a picture. They’re about getting out of the house, going somewhere new, sitting with other people, having a chat, meeting someone you might never normally meet and having a couple of hours where your brain can switch off from everything else.

Sometimes that little reason to get out and do something for yourself matters more than we realise. ❤️

If you’re able to pay the full ticket price, you’re also helping me continue making lower-cost spaces available for people who need them.

Been back at The Brick today doing healthcare research for Public Involvement and Engagement Hub listening to people’s experiences and having some really important conversations...and more importantly, listening!

But ...what I’ve found especially rewarding is the painting.
So many people have said they haven’t painted since school. For a few hours they’ve been able to sit, paint, chill and switch their brains off from everything else for a little while.

Having experienced homelessness myself at 17, I think this project has really hit differently for me. I know how much it can mean to have somewhere you feel welcome, somebody who just listens without judyement, and even just a little bit of normality.

A few people have said how calming it felt for them, and how special it was to have a proper canvas to create something of their own. Something so small, but so significant to these people today.

And while we was painting... we talked, I listened . We learned!

This is exactly why I’m so passionate about creative health. 🎨❤️
