Exciting things are happening at the Royal College of Psychiatrists!
Chief Executive Sandra Butcher took part in a session on FASD at the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ international congress in Liverpool.
The session was organised by Prof Raja Mukherjee MBE, who is lead author on a forthcoming report about FASD from the College. Other speakers included Prof Penny Cook, Dr Alan Price and Prof Arijit Mukhopadhyay from the University of Salford.
Sandy said, “You can tell things are changing, even if slowly. When I asked, more than half of the participants indicated they knew someone with FASD or suspected FASD. There's still a long way to go but Raja and others in the College are opening doors that need to be opened so people with FASD and suspected FASD and their families get the FASD-informed diagnosis, care and support they deserve.”
