🎄 Yes, we know it's only June... but Christmas doesn't happen by magic! ✨

If we're going to make Ongar sparkle this Christmas, we need to start now.

For the past few years, our Christmas Lights and Festive Celebration have brought the community together, supported local businesses, and created magical memories for thousands of visitors. This year, we want to build on that success and make it even bigger and brighter.

That's why we're officially launching our 2026 Christmas Lights Fundraising Campaign.

Every donation, sponsorship and fundraising idea helps us provide:
✨ Christmas lights and decorations
🎶 Live entertainment
🎅 Family festive activities
🛡️ Event safety measures
🏡 A wonderful community celebration for everyone to enjoy

🌟 We're also looking for headline sponsors and business partners who would like to be part of one of Ongar's biggest community events. Sponsorship packages are flexible and we're happy to discuss opportunities to suit your business and budget.

Yesterday’s leavers celebration was a huge success — plenty of smiles, memories, and photo opportunities! 📸 Huge thanks to the Friends of The Ongar Academy and all the staff for organising such a lovely event.

We hope that the Year 11’s are having a great leaver’s party this afternoon. Enjoy your ice creams and drinks supplied by The Friends of The Ongar Academy. It’s been a pleasure watching you all grow, over the past 5 years. We wish you well for your remaining exams and for the next stage of your education whether that is going to sixth form of college.

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM tonight. There are lots of exciting projects to look forward to.

The new committee were voted in and are as follows:
