I am writing to share the funeral arrangements for Derek Tringham, a long time member of the Branch, past Chair and Branch President who sadly passed away last week.

The funeral will take place at Green Acres on Monday 9 February 2026 at 12:00 noon, and will be followed by a wake.

Anyone wishing to attend the wake is kindly asked to contact me by Facebook message (I will pass on details to the family) so that arrangements can be confirmed.

Family flowers only; donations in lieu of flowers to Great Ormond Street Hospital would be gratefully received.

We’re very pleased to share some exciting news about this year’s Act of Remembrance at St Andrew’s Church, North Weald.

Thanks to the support of the North Weald Bassett Parish Council, who kindly connected us with Aero Legends, we’re honoured to announce that a WWII Dakota aircraft will make a special Poppy Drop over the church during the 11 o’clock Two Minute Silence.

This will be a truly memorable moment for our village and a fitting tribute to those who gave their lives in service.

We’d love to see as many members of our community as possible join us for this year’s Act of Remembrance — and we especially encourage our veteran community to attend and show their support.

Please spread the word and come together with us on Remembrance Sunday to remember and honour all who served.

We will remember them. 🌺
