The best way to start celebrating Volunteers' Week is by volunteering! 🎉

Our team is grateful to Harlow Chocolate Run for the opportunity to cook and serve food for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed in our community.

A huge thank you to our amazing team: Leyla, Adam, Louise, Dina, Liza and Marina who gave their time, energy, and compassion to make the event a success. Together, they prepared and served a delicious meal with a Turkish twist!

We're proud of what can be achieved when people come together to support one another. 💙

Happy Volunteers' Week!

This Volunteers' Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every one of our amazing volunteers.

Your time, dedication, kindness, and support make an incredible difference to Integration Support and the people we serve. Quite simply, we could not do what we do without you.

Last year, 28 volunteers generously gave a total of 850 hours of their time to help us deliver our services and support our community. Every hour contributed helped us make a positive impact and reach more people in need.

You can see our volunteers supporting our clubs, sessions, English classes, and events—always wearing our branded bright yellow “sunshine” shirts, bringing warmth and positivity wherever they go. ☀️

Thank you for everything you do. Your commitment, compassion, and willingness to help are truly appreciated.

Last weekend we visited the cinema with 10 families to watch Bluey together — for many, it was their first ever cinema visit. Bringing their favourite Bluey and Pudsey toys helped them feel safe, comfortable and excited, making the experience extra special. ✨

🗣️ “It was Roza’s first visit to a cinema. She was very happy and I enjoyed it too.”

🗣️ “The children especially enjoyed the funny Bluey episode with the bugs.”

🗣️ “Both boys said they really enjoyed watching Bluey and would like to come again.”

🗣️ “Thank you very much for this amazing session. It was thoughtful for children of all ages.” 💛

💛 A big thank you to BBC Children in Need for supporting our fun and educational activities for children.

Through one‑to‑one digital support, Faina learned how to use technology with confidence and on their own.

Over 7 sessions, she learned how to use a computer, send emails, place online orders, use Google Maps, and find information and services online. As her skills improved, she became more confident managing everyday tasks independently. This helped reduce digital exclusion and made daily life easier.

🗣️ “I would like to express my gratitude to Liza for helping me learn how to use the internet and for the moral support she provided. Thanks to her, I learned how to place online orders, use a computer, and navigate with Google Maps, which is very important for me. Through her patience and kindness, I gradually began to understand and use the internet with confidence. I would love to continue learning with her in the future. Thank you.”

This shows how personalised digital support can help people build confidence, become more independent, and access services that are now part of everyday life.

This week at our Art & Wellbeing Club, families have been expressing themselves through clay sculpting and collage making. During the school holidays, we’ve seen growing numbers of families joining us — using art as a way to relax, communicate, and connect with others in a safe and welcoming space.

🧠✨ The sessions support emotional wellbeing, strengthen family bonds, and help reduce isolation by bringing adults and children together through shared creativity and community.

Join us Every Tuesday | 13.00 – 15.00 | St Paul’s Church Hall, Harlow, CM20 1LP

It’s free to attend!

This week we held the final session of our Women’s Health Club 💜

Since launching in 2023, more than 320 women from over 57 different nationalities trusted us and became part of this beautiful project — a community where women have been changing their lives for the better.

Every week women came together to exercise, try new activities and support one another. From yoga, pilates and boxing to salsa classes, gym visits and group walks — for many participants this was the very first time they had ever joined a group physical activity. And they did it with courage, determination and smiles.

The club was about so much more than exercise. Together, women joined important conversations about sexual health, breast cancer, mental health, diabetes, skin and hair care, blood pressure and overall wellbeing. Over 300 personal care products were also distributed to support women in taking care of themselves and their health.
What we are most proud of is the community that was created — women supporting women, empowering each other, building confidence, prioritising their health and finding friendships along the way.

Unfortunately, due to funding coming to an end, we have had to stop our weekly sessions. But we know the impact of this project will continue long after the final class. The women will keep going, keep growing and keep supporting one another.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to our funders — Active Essex, Sport England and Harlow Council — for making this project possible and helping us support so many women in our community.

Thank you to every woman who joined us, shared their journey, encouraged others and made this project so special. You are the heart of this community and we are incredibly proud of every single one of you 💜

We are still receiving overwhelming and emotional messages from the Ukrainians who joined our trip to Rochester💙💛

"We not only had a great trip but also received real emotions, good mood and wonderful memories!"
"We rarely meet now, and this trip was an opportunity to meet our fellow countrymen, make friendships. The atmosphere was nice and we felt so welcomed!"
"This trip was unforgettable. The vibe was festive. I especially enjoyed listening to Ukrainian music and Ukrainian food. I met many people from Ukraine and we had many interesting conversations and a lot of fun! I filled with positivity, warmth and happiness!"
"This trip was like a journey back home: being around so many Ukrainians, enjoying great food, laughing and sharing stories. For long time I did not feel so much warmth in my heart and soul!"

The day was filled with wonderful experiences — exploring the beautiful city of Rochester, visiting Rochester Cathedral and Rochester Castle, and spending time together as a community. However, the true highlight of the trip was attending the Ukrainian cultural event that took place that day.
For many attendees, it was an incredibly emotional experience to be surrounded by Ukrainian culture, language, music, and traditions once again. Families shared traditional Ukrainian food, met other Ukrainians, listened to Ukrainian songs, and joined in singing and dancing together.
It was especially moving to see both adults and children proudly wearing their beautiful vyshyvankas. Our group also took part in opening and holding a huge Ukrainian flag together with other Ukrainians attending the event — a powerful moment of unity, identity, and pride.
These moments matter so much for people who have been displaced from their homes and are rebuilding their lives here in the UK. Community, culture, connection, and belonging are incredibly important for wellbeing and resilience.
Our support to Ukrainian community is funded by the Homes for Ukraine Community Grants Programme, administered by Essex Community Foundation on behalf of Essex County Council💙💛
