Come along to our Christmas shopping event on Thursday 12 November and support The Princess Alexandra Hospital Charity's Breast Unit Fund. With a fantastic range of stalls selling clothing, jewellery, handmade gifts and festive treats, there's something for everyone.

Simply turn up, enjoy a browse and a complimentary tea or coffee, and help support patients using the Breast Unit at The Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A massive thank you to everyone at Tesco Chelmsford Store 2, Princes Road, and especially Community Champion Kathy, for their incredibly generous donation to of activity packs, pens, notebooks, sensory items and much more. We are so grateful.

These thoughtful gifts will make a real difference to the children and young people being supported by our Mental Health team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital. Having activities to focus on can help reduce anxiety, provide comfort during difficult times, and offer a positive distraction when they need it most.

Double the knitting, double the kindness!

A huge thank you to sisters Jill and Chris, our wonderful knitting duo, for this fantastic donation of hand-knitted items for the Maternity Department, Neonatal Unit and Palliative Care team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital.

From tiny cardigans and cosy hats to an array of beautifully knitted items, so much time and care has gone into creating this wonderful collection for our patients.

We’re incredibly grateful to Jill and Chris for putting their knitting needles to such good use and supporting our patients and families in such a thoughtful way.

💗 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

This October, we're raising awareness of breast cancer and recognising the impact it has on patients and their loved ones.

Every breast cancer journey is different, but nobody should face it alone.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, PAH Charity helps fund additional support for people affected by breast cancer, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and yoga programmes during and after treatment.

A huge thank you to everyone who fundraises, volunteers and donates in support of breast cancer care at The Princess Alexandra Hospital. Your support makes a real difference.

Meet Luna!

We’re very excited to welcome a brand-new Pets As Therapy dog to The Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Luna is a two-year-old Cavapoo with a big personality and an even bigger heart. 💙

One of Luna’s favourite times of the day is, unsurprisingly, treat time! She even has her very own button which she presses to announce “Treat time, please!” She’ll then sit beautifully, put on her cutest gaze and patiently wait for her reward.

Luna considers everyone she meets her new best friend and honestly can’t believe her luck that wherever she goes, so many people seem to turn up just to see her!

Cuddles are always welcome, although please be aware that Luna does charge a belly tax in the form of belly rubs. 🐶

Luna also loves a coffee date, where pup cups are quite simply heaven. Just remember to pull up an extra chair because Luna likes to be part of the conversation and finds it rather difficult to keep up with everything from the floor!

Above all, Luna is incredibly loving and is already bringing comfort, smiles and a little bit of calm to our wards so she's already fitting right in at .

This week is Baby Loss Awareness Week and the theme this year is ‘Together We Care’. It's a reminder that nobody should have to navigate baby loss alone. Through compassion, understanding and support, we can be there for one another and remember every baby whose life, however short, has made a lasting impact.

We stand alongside everyone who has experienced the loss of their baby, remembering the babies who are deeply loved and never forgotten.

On Sunday 11 October, families and our community were invited to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital Bereavement in Maternity team at GreenAcres Epping Park for a special Wave of Light service from 3pm to 4pm.

By coming together and lighting a candle we remembered every precious baby and showed those affected by baby loss that they are not alone.

Together we remember. Together we support. Together we care.

This , we're shining a light on mental wellbeing and the importance of creating positive, supportive environments for patients at The Princess Alexandra Hospital.

With the help of our generous supporters, has been able to fund additional resources such as activities, games and wellbeing items that help enhance the experience of patients receiving care at our hospital.

Sometimes, the smallest things can bring comfort, encourage interaction and make time spent in hospital that little bit easier. By creating spaces where people feel supported and connected, we can help nurture wellbeing and create opportunities for positive growth.

So today, let's remember the difference that small acts of kindness can make. We never truly know what someone else may be going through. Take a moment to check in on those around you, make time for a conversation and, most importantly, keep talking. 💙

It’s Play in Healthcare Week, and this year’s theme is ‘Celebrating how play is improving outcomes and experience’.

We’re recognising the essential work of our Play team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital and the important role therapeutic play has in a child’s hospital experience. Through play, children and young people can gain a better understanding of what’s happening to them, express how they’re feeling, and feel less anxious or fearful during what can be a challenging time.

Our Play team is there every day to bring comfort, reassurance and moments of joy to children and young people in our care. From games and creative activities to distraction and preparation for procedures, they help make the hospital experience feel that little bit less daunting.

With support from our community, can help our Play team continue creating those all-important moments of comfort, confidence and joy. Santa in the City is back! 🧑‍🎄

Get into the festive spirit and join us for Santa in the City this December! Slip into your Santa suit and jingle your way through the streets of central London, while raising vital funds for .

Whether you run, jog or walk, this festive 5k fun run takes place on Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 December. Every participant receives a Santa suit and a medal.

Run solo, with friends, family or colleagues and enjoy a fantastic festive evening route through the heart of London, passing some of the capital's most iconic landmarks. It’s a brilliant way to kick off the Christmas season, and it's family-friendly too!
