Last week our safeguarding team had the opportunity to take part in a level 5 OCN accredited safeguarding training with SaferNow, reinforcing our commitment to creating safe, supportive, and empowering environments for the young people we work with.
At Young Swindon and Wiltshire, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. This training provided valuable insights, refreshed our knowledge, and encouraged important conversations around how we create cultures where practitioners can safeguard effectively with curiosity.

🥾💚 The countdown is on… just days to go! 💚🥾

This Sunday, three of our amazing supporters, Ami, Kat and Alfie, will be taking on the incredible Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge, walking 100km over 2 days! 😱

Over the past few months they have been training hard, exploring some beautiful locations, tackling challenging routes, and preparing themselves both physically and mentally for what will be a huge test of endurance.

This challenge is about much more than the miles. Every step they take is helping to raise funds for Young Swindon & Wiltshire, supporting local young people through mentoring, youth work, wellbeing support, employability programmes and opportunities that help them build brighter futures.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, effort and dedication they have put into this challenge, and now they need one final push from us all!

We are so excited to announce the opening of Solid Ground Café ☕✨

What started as a concept nearly two years ago has now grown from a beloved lunch van to a community café.

Our café is a practical learning hub with a radical employability approach that offers young people who have had adverse life experiences paid employment to learn tailored customer service, health and safety, food hygiene, money handling skills and barista skills. Our approach creates an industry standard working environment that supports young people to learn the practical skills needed for employment as well as the shared behaviours that empower them to hold roles and responsibilities at both work and in their communities.

From locally sourced baked goods to homemade soup, every detail of our café has been built by and with young people with community and experience in mind. We’re proud to open our doors and become part of the Swindon Hubs.
