Beavers celebrate their 40th birthday in 2026 and Huron Beavers celebrated the anniversary recently. They played games, decorated (and ate) fairy cakes and made the shape of the number 40 for a photo! In the summer we will be joining other Beavers from Swindon North District at Cotswold Wildlife Park for a big party. Happy 40th birthday Beavers!

Highworth Scout Group at the Big Highworth Awards.

On Saturday 28th March representatives from Highworth Scout Group attended the Big Highworth Awards. The Scout Group was nominated for Charity of the Year along with 2 other very worthy representatives Salvation Army Gloucester House and, the eventual and well-deserved winners, Root and Branch.
It was great to spend the night celebrating with all the nominees across the different categories reflecting the wonderful work done by so many people across Highworth.

The recognition from the nomination was a reward in itself.

If you would like to join a great team of volunteers supporting your local community and children of Highworth to develop new skills, resilience whilst having a lot of fun please contact [email protected]

Thank you to everyone who supported our 2026 Scarecrow trail. We've received some wonderful positive feedback and have some great ideas for next year's theme. Our top three scarecrows as voted by those who returned their completed answer sheets were;

Hungry Hippos

Captain Hook

Haunted House

Our winning booklet guessed all entries correctly and have won Afternoon Tea for Two kindly donated by The Highworth Hotel

Hungry Hippos has been awarded a voucher for Tea/coffee & cake for two generously gifted by Weigh It Up.

Chloes not only hosted a rather large carrot scarecrow in their window (Prince Harry), but have also provided us with a voucher which has been passed on to Captain Hook. All prize recipients have now been notified.
