Pegasus Explorer Scout Unit - Swindon

This week, the Explorers were brave enough to venture off on their own adventure following some rough directions. Most of them navigated around Stratton Woods and Stanton Park, with the exception being a CERTAIN team who read the instructions wrong and went for a leisurely stroll around the block, but all in all had fun and learnt a lesson in reading the instructions. We also had a special guest from SWOT Explorers, so it was great to show them the whimsical and fun world of Pegasus Explorers.

Unfortunately, tonight we heard the unfortunate news about the passing of Dolly Parton, which broke everyone's hearts, and so the Leaders have decided to rename our unit to Dolly's Explorers.

🎯 Right on target! 🏹🪓

This week our Explorers put their aim to the test with an evening of archery and tomahawk throwing!

There were bullseyes, a few tomahawks that eventually decided to stick, plenty of friendly competition, and lots of “just one more go!” 😅

A brilliant evening trying something different, learning new skills and, most importantly, having a laugh along the way.

Give me a 'S'! Give me a 'C'! Give me an 'O'! Give me an 'U'! Give me a 'T'!

This week, as we enjoyed a cool summer breeze, our Explorers cooked some... yummy-ish meals with ingredients that spelt out 'Scouts'. We had some creative ideas from Stir fry to Unsalted butter, but overall the meal the leaders chowed down on most was the Spaghetti with Cheese, Onions, Unsmoked bacon, Tomatoes, and Sweet peppers.

Well done to all the Explorers, and we'll see you on next week of Hell's Kitchen!

What a way to finish an incredible week at Wings 2026! 🎉

Yesterday we ended the event with an unforgettable colour run, followed by the Wings 2026 closing ceremony – the perfect way to celebrate an amazing week of adventures, new experiences and memories.

Today it was time to pack up camp and say our goodbyes, especially to our new friends from 22nd Dublin Mafikeng. It was great getting to know you all, and we hope our paths cross again in the future.

Yesterday morning we headed into Windsor to explore and even met some Scout leaders from Hong Kong! 🌍

In the afternoon, everyone took on the climbing wall and the bag jump, with plenty of our Explorers giving both a go.

Today we’ve been over to the Merchants Guild where we made our own sweets, and we’re currently at the Wave Riders Guild enjoying some water activities.

This morning we headed over to the Voyagers Guild for some time on the water.

We had a go at both rafting and bell boating. Everyone got stuck in and gave it a go, making it another great activity at Wings. 🌊🚣

Over the last couple of days, our Explorers, along with Medusa and Hydra, have been getting stuck into everything that Wings has to offer! From taking on activities and challenges to making new friends, it’s been non-stop fun and adventure.

A huge well done to Alessandro, Millie, Zara and Maisy, who joined forces with some of our new Irish friends to perform on the main stage at Wings Got Talent last night. What an incredible experience – we’re all so proud of you! 👏🎭

Last night our Explorers, along with Medusa and Hydra, joined thousands of Scouts from across the country and around the world for the Wings opening ceremony – the perfect way to kick off an incredible week.

Today it’s all about the Battle of the Sub Camps, where they’ll be taking on a whole range of challenges to earn their Wings Challenge Badge.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!
