Pegasus Explorer Scout Unit - Swindon

Last night our Explorers took on a trading post challenge - completing activities to earn money, with the aim of finishing the night with the biggest fortune!

There was a catch though… some activities needed resources, and those resources cost money. So they had to decide when to spend, when to save, and which challenges were worth the investment.

Of course, we also had to keep an eye out for some slightly more questionable business tactics… including (apparently successful) attempts to bribe leaders and the occasional bit of “resource redistribution” 👀😂

🧘‍♀️ Something a little different for Explorers this week!

Two of our Explorers took over and ran a yoga session for the unit – complete with downward dogs, octopi 🐙 and some very creative interpretations of the poses!

Plenty of laughs, a bit of stretching, and a brilliant night planned and led by our Explorers themselves. 👏

Chocolate, a bag and a warm armpit. Apparently that’s all you need for a night at Explorers! 🍫😂 This week we had a go at making armpit fudge.

We've had a great evening dancing the night away in our incredible outfits! We've had everything from the Teletubbies, Crayons, all the way through to Toilet Paper!

The best dressed (as recognised by the event) was India (from Medusa ESU) who won the best dressed female with her handmade crow outfit!

Theme Park Camp

Our Explorers, joined by Medusa, have been making their way around the rides and we’ve certainly had a bit of everything!

We’ve been on some wet ones 💦, some seriously fast ones 💨, some VERY tall ones 😳 and, most importantly… we’ve made sure to visit the food vendors! 🍔🍟😂

One of our groups may have got a little too engaged in some of the theme park games… 👀😂 But at least it paid off with some rather nice teddies to take home! 🧸🦆

This week was woggles, woggles, woggles! Our clever bunch were carving woggles out of wood and weaving paracord. While the wood woggles are a work in progress, the paracord ones came out beautifully, showing that you can do anything you bring your mind to! Maybe next week we'll look at showing Explorers how to use a lighter though as that was a struggle... ANYWAYS join us next week for even more fun and whimsy smiley emoji

This week, the Explorers were brave enough to venture off on their own adventure following some rough directions. Most of them navigated around Stratton Woods and Stanton Park, with the exception being a CERTAIN team who read the instructions wrong and went for a leisurely stroll around the block, but all in all had fun and learnt a lesson in reading the instructions. We also had a special guest from SWOT Explorers, so it was great to show them the whimsical and fun world of Pegasus Explorers.

Unfortunately, tonight we heard the unfortunate news about the passing of Dolly Parton, which broke everyone's hearts, and so the Leaders have decided to rename our unit to Dolly's Explorers.

🎯 Right on target! 🏹🪓

This week our Explorers put their aim to the test with an evening of archery and tomahawk throwing!

There were bullseyes, a few tomahawks that eventually decided to stick, plenty of friendly competition, and lots of “just one more go!” 😅

A brilliant evening trying something different, learning new skills and, most importantly, having a laugh along the way.
