Not long now until our fabulous fireworks display 🎆🎇, its our 50th year of firework displays, please remember to buy your tickets in advance from One Stop on Windsor Road or online at https://swindonlions.org as it is a pre sale event only, NO tickets are available at the gates.

Nationwide park and ride is available as usual as there is no parking at the event.

Please come along and support our event where all profits go to charities.

💚 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💚

Today, Westbury Lions are recognising World Mental Health Day and reminding our community that mental health matters just as much as physical health.

💚 It’s okay not to be okay.

Life can be challenging, and sometimes the people who appear to be coping the best are fighting battles we know nothing about. A smile doesn’t always tell the whole story, and we never truly know what someone else may be going through.

Today is a reminder to:
💚 Check in on friends, family and colleagues.
💚 Take time to listen without judgement.
💚 Be kind — a small act of kindness can make a big difference.
💚 Reach out for support if you’re struggling. You don’t have to face things alone.

You don’t need to have all the right words or solutions. Sometimes, simply asking “Are you really okay?” and taking the time to listen can mean more than you realise.

As Lions, we believe in supporting our community, looking out for one another and making a positive difference wherever we can. Let’s continue to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and create a community where everyone feels seen, heard and supported. 💚

Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, it’s okay to take a break, and it’s okay to put yourself first.

💚 Be kind to yourself and to others. You never know how much someone might need it.

Swindon Lions Club also collect and recycle spectacles. We are at the Autumn Fayre at Christ Church on Saturday if you want to bring along any no longer needed glasses.🕶

To celebrate World Sight Day some members are visiting BATS 🦇tonight to learn about a new sport they are playing, Showdown. We will let you know how we get on!

And on Monday 19th October at our Club meeting we have a speaker from Wiltshire Sight talking to us about the services available for blind and partially sighted people. Looking forward to it.

Lions Clubs across District 105SC support the collection and recycling of unwanted spectacles, helping people around the world who may otherwise struggle to access the glasses they need.

💙 Every pair of donated glasses could make a real difference to someone’s life.

👓 HAVE YOU GOT ANY OLD OR UNWANTED GLASSES?

Rather than leaving them in a drawer or throwing them away, please contact your local Lions Club to find out how you can donate them.
