The Swindon Night Shelter is a Christian charity where volunteers come together in church buildings at night to offer the homeless of Swindon a warm dry place to sleep and food to eat. It also gives them the chance to talk to people who are always willing to listen and help in anyway they can whilst sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This week we'd like to introduce you to one our trustees, Tanya! She supports us with her years of knowledge in marketing, but can also been seen at a our tabletop sales and has represented us at the South West Expo too!!

1. What drew you to work at the night Shelter?
My lovely friend, Christine, introduced me and I immediately knew I wanted to be part of the amazing work at The Haven.

2. A brief testimony / history
I became a trustee at the end of 2023 and it's been a pleasure serving through that role, mostly but not only behind the scenes. I've personally experienced family members who lived in and with addiction and know how important support, friendship and love are for those struggling. I see those characteristics (love, support and friendship) in the people at the centre (guests, staff and volunteers) in display towards each other.

3. An interesting fact about yourself that we won’t know
I was born in Zimbabwe and was a professional chef for 10 years before moving to the UK.

It’s great to partner with Swindon Borough Council to provide this.

1. What drew you to work at the night Shelter?

2. A brief testimony / history
I was rescued from Romania by and found my forever home with Malcolm! I visit every day and have lots of friends at The Haven! (Anton is my favourite!!)

3. An interesting fact about yourself that we won’t know
