Retro Rambler

Retro Rambler Building friendships one walk at a time. Let me introduce myself - I am Retro Rambler (a.k.a. And now, the next chapter is calling.

Retro Rambler leads inclusive, scenic adventures for like‑minded people who love nature, connection, and feel‑good challenges that support charity. Peggy-Sue), a trail‑lover, challenge‑seeker, and enthusiastic explorer of every path from Wiltshire to the wildest corners of the world. Walking isn’t just something I do; it’s the heartbeat of my adventures, and I love opening those adventures to anyo

ne who wants to join me. Since 2020, I’ve taken part in multiple Ultra Challenges and LDW events, pushing my limits, discovering new landscapes, and raising money for charity with every mile. In August 2025, I completed five sections of the Great Wall of China with Action Challenge - an unforgettable journey that deepened my love for long‑distance trekking and global adventure. I’m currently in training for my biggest adventure yet: hiking the Inca Trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu in early June 2028, followed by a breath-taking day excursion to the Rainbow Mountains. Every walk I lead, every mile I cover, and every challenge I take on is part of the journey toward that incredible goal. What began as personal training for these big challenges has grown into a friendly, inclusive walking community. My group, Retro Ramblers, has brought people together, boosted confidence, and inspired others to get outdoors - something I’m incredibly proud to say led to me being nominated for, and winning, a Pride of Swindon Award for the positive impact my walks have on participants’ health and wellbeing. Every walk I host is an adventure in its own right: new scenery, new stories, new friendships. Whether you’re building fitness, supporting your wellbeing, or simply craving a fun escape into nature, you’re welcome to lace up and join the journey. Expect encouragement, achievable challenges, and that brilliant “I did it!” feeling at the finish.

Today's Retro Ramblers walk turned into a Retro Rambler solo hike.
I didn't let the rain put me off, and continued as planned.
So, off I went on a 7.15 mile walk starting and finishing at Uffington White Horse Car Park.

From the Studios of Swindon 105.5… to the Mountains of Peru!

I’m Peggy‑Sue, volunteer, presenter, and proud supporter of our award‑winning community radio station, and in June 2028, I’ll be trekking the legendary Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!

Five days of ancient pathways, cloud forests, high passes, and that magical moment when the Sun Gate reveals Machu Picchu in all its glory.

But there’s more, I am also taking on the dazzling Rainbow Mountain, adding a burst of colour to this once‑in‑a‑lifetime adventure.

So, between now and May 2028, I am going to be training, not only with my fellow Retro Ramblers, but also with UK treks across the Malverns, Cotswolds, Ridgeway, and four progressive Pen y Fan climbs, all building strength and stamina for the high‑altitude challenge ahead.

I’ve already conquered five sections of the Great Wall of China in 2025, and now I’m ready to channel that same determination into this new journey, raising vital funds for Swindon 105.5, our volunteer‑powered station that gives a voice to local people, charities, and music that matter.

✨ Ten days. Ancient steps. Rainbow Mountain. Music Magic.

My fundraising starts at the end of 2026, so keep an eye out for the donation link!
