From Sampad South Asian Arts Within the Mac Birmingham & Jayesperi Moopen & Tribhangi Dance Theatre

A great Dance event for all to learn dance, plus Indian, African, UK & Western dance fusion events this coming spring.

๐Ÿ”น Asian Spring is back at The Bradshaw Hall, Birmingham on Sunday 22 March. An annual showcase and an audience favourite. Book now to see established and emerging dance talent perform with their groups.

๐Ÿ”ธ Tribhangi Dance Theatre: UBUNTU.
We can't wait to welcome Tribhangi for their UK tour which starts at Solihull Core Theatre on 24 March, followed by Birmingham Rep on 28 March and Northern Ballet Leeds on 29 March. Masterfully blending the strength and energy of African dance with the grace and precision of classical Indian Bharatanatyam, their last UK tour left audiences awestruck.

๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿ‰ | Are you the designated driver for this coming matchday? If you are, you could receive free or discounted soft drinks in selected premises as part of our DES Scheme.

๐Ÿ† Weโ€™re proudly running this initiative again during Six Nations matchdays and to raise awareness of responsible drinking with road safety in mind.

๐Ÿฅค If you are the designated driver this weekend, make your responsibilities known to bar staff and they will give you a wristband enabling you to receive draught free or discounted soft drinks or squash.

๐ŸŸ๏ธ Whether this offer stands for selected matchdays or for a stipulated number of drinks is determined by each individual licensed premises, as they are the ones covering the costs.

๐Ÿค provide posters and wristbands to help support bars in their promotion of the scheme.

Apprenticeships can support real career progression while allowing colleagues to stay rooted in the services they care about.

During National Apprenticeship Week 2026, weโ€™re sharing stories that show how apprenticeships build skills for life.

Jenny completed a Social Work Degree Apprenticeship while continuing to work at the Council, progressing from a role in social care to becoming a fully qualified Social Worker within three years. The apprenticeship route allowed her to combine academic study with day-to-day practice, applying learning directly to the people and communities she supports.

Jenny said: โ€œThe apprenticeship gave me a structured pathway to progress while remaining in my role. Being able to work and study at the same time helped me embed learning into real-world practice and put me in a strong position.โ€

Following the successful completion of her degree, Jenny has secured a permanent role as a qualified Social Worker within the same team.
