Join us for an uplifting evening of summer music making when The Fitzhardinge Consort perform to help raise funds for the NSPCC.

Under the direction of their new conductor, Jonathan James, The Fitzhardinge Consort will perform Love Bade Me Welcome at the Church of St Bartholomew in Ubley on Saturday June 20.

Their programme will include the rich textures of the Renaissance to the light-hearted charm of jazz and barbershop favourites.

All proceeds will go to the NSPCC to help support our work to protect children and keep them safe.

Tickets cost £20 and children go free. For more details visit https://fitzhardingeconsort.com/event/love-bade-me-welcome-songs-of-love-and-desire/

A massive thank you to Axe Cliff Golf Club Ladies in Devon who have raised £560 for the NSPCC. ⛳🏌‍♀

The club held a series of events throughout 2025 in support of the NSPCC after the charity was selected by captain Karin Cox as charity of the year.

Karin said: "We held various events over 2025 including Raffles, Collection boxes and a scheme which each of the three club captains took part in, whereby players were encouraged to donate £1 anytime they found themselves in 'the pit' right next to the vertiginous seventh hole. From the amount of pound coins in the jar on the bar it's obviously a popular place to drive the ball!"

Caroline Morgan, NSPCC Associate Head - Supporter Relationships for the region, said: "This is a fantastic amount raised by a wonderful group of golfers, and we are hugely grateful to everyone who donated.

"Every pound raised will go towards supporting vital NSPCC services like Childline, which is there to help children and young people in Devon and across the country 24/7."
