BIG thank you to BIG YELLOW storage!
As a charity, we still have to pay bills - phone, electricity, photocopier paper, etc, so when a local company steps up and helps us out - big time - we are very grateful.
So, many thanks to BIG YELLOW SWINDON for their continued support - much appreciated, and your help means that more of our precious funds are used to help those in need.

As we come to the end of Volunteers' Week, you've seen a lot of THANK YOUs - to those who give lots and those who give a little when they can.
A quick calculation tells us that even as a relatively small charity, we benefit from MORE THAN 10,000 HOURS of donated time each year - that makes a phenomenal difference to our ability to support those impacted by domestic abuse.
So, just one more time - THANK YOU - every hour counts!
If you'd like to find out how you could join the volunteer team, do message us on here and we'll be in touch.

Fundraisers come in many shapes and sizes and so do their projects. Some go all out – run a marathon, set up a donation page, pound the streets to bring in the pounds. Others are a little more low-key - holding a cake sale at their gym or washing cars.
So, whoever you are and whatever you have done, we THANK YOU – every penny counts so keep pounding the street/washing those cars/selling those cakes …. or whatever takes your fancy!
PS We have a team running in the Swindon Half Marathon on September 27th - Run for a Reason - whether you’re a seasoned runner or a first timer, we’d love to have you on For more information message us on here or email us at [email protected]

With only 25% of victims of domestic abuse reporting it to the police, it means 75% might confide in someone they know and trust - a friend, neighbour, family member, colleague .
That’s why our Ambassadors are so important. They give their time and energy, and we equip them with the confidence and skills to really listen, offer emotional support, and signpost to professional help when it matters most.
So, to all our Ambassadors, a BIG THANK YOU for the time you give and for looking out for those around you.
We’re always looking for passionate people to join us as SWA Ambassadors. Get involved today: [email protected]

Our two shops, the flagship store in Swindon and the boutique shop in Marlborough, are staffed by a small army of volunteers, between them clocking up literally THOUSANDS of hours a year. Most of them give us a day or half a day every week to keep the shelves stocked and the tills ringing.
The money they bring in funds a big part of the ‘extra’ programmes we are able to run – that means more men, women and children given support when they need help.
So, whether you do a full day, a half day, or just help out occasionally, THANK YOU – you make a real difference to people’s lives.

Our Board of Trustees and Associate Members are all volunteers who bring a variety of valuable skills to the charity from finance to law to HR. A trustee's role in a charity is to be the 'guardians of purpose', making sure that all decisions put the needs of the beneficiaries first and safeguard the charity's assets.
Thank you all for your time and guidance
