Can you help?
In our fundraising shop, SWA Survivor in Swindon, we sell many items every day and need carrier bags! So, if you have a stash of bags in the kitchen, or the car, wherever, we'd love to recycle them through the shop.
Paper ones, plastic ones, branded or plain - as long as they are clean, we can use them! When someone buys a new dress or pair of shoes, a babygrow or book, we like to wrap their purchase so that it gets home safely.
If you can help, please get in touch or drop them off at the Shop in the Parade in Swindon, near H&M

Summer holidays can be a difficult time for anyone impacted by domestic abuse, and our team have been running some summer fun activities for children and their families, including a treasure hunt, nature trails, and rock painting. Creating happy times and good memories is an important part of recovery.

Remember the big Rotary Club of Swindon Centenary Ball earlier this year? On the night, one of the Auction items was a private lunch for 10 in a stunning private garden ,kindly donated by the owner. Well, the winners (bidding together, Sue and Debbie) took advantage of the glorious weather last week to sit in the shade with friends and family. Big thanks to our donor for hosting and to Debbie and Sue for bidding.

How are the summer holidays going?
1 in 7 children will experience domestic abuse at some point in their life. A report found that 62% of children experiencing DA in the home are directly harmed themselves.
Supporting children is essential to enable them to develop their own healthy relationships in the future.

There's a great atmosphere down at GWR Park this afternoon where you will find members of our team at the SWA Stand.
We're here to spread the word about the services we offer, the help we can give, and to put a few smiles on faces! If you fancy being framed in pink, pop along and say hello - you don't have to have our team members in the photo if you don't want, but it looks like you might struggle to keep them out!!
Domestic abuse can affect anyone, in any relationship. We're here to help anyone with concerns about their own relationship, or who are worried about a friend - come along and find out more.

In our work towards a society without abuse, prevention is crucial.
Our Open2Change team provides early intervention and prevention support to those who recognise they demonstrate unhealthy behaviours in personal relationships and are ready and willing to make positive changes.

By hosting an Afternoon Tea this summer, you will bring people together, you'll raise awareness and reduce the perceived stigma of domestic abuse, you can raise funds to support programmes to help those affected ... and .... have fun doing it!!

Clare's Law gives the public the right to ask the Police if someone has a history of violence or abuse.
Under Clare's Law you can apply for information about your current partner if you're worried they may have a history of abuse and are a risk to you. You can also request information about the current partner of a friend or relative if you're worried they might be at risk
Either go into a police station, call 101 or go to the Wiltshire Police website and search for Clare's Law. In an emergency, always call 999.
