This page provides information about local infant feeding support, in and around Swindon. In fact you don't even need to be breastfeeding, yet.

If you wish to access online feeding support, please request to join our private group, 'Swindon Breastmates (Breastfeeding Support)'. Swindon Breastmates is a network of free breastfeeding support groups, run by NHS Swindon in association with the NCT, in children's centres, across Swindon and the surrounding area. They are informal drop-in groups, run by mums who are not only trained in breastfeeding support, but who have breastfed, or in most cases who still are breastfeeding, their own children. You don't have to be having any breastfeeding problems in order to attend. Pregnant women are not only welcome, but positively encouraged, to come along and ask any questions they may have on the subject. And what's more, there is usually cake. Other breastfeeding support available, all free of charge for everyone:

• Antenatal breastfeeding workshops - ask your midwife for more details
• Breastfeeding support at the hospital by trained volunteer breastfeeding supporters - watch out for the ladies in lilac!
• Local NCT trained breastfeeding counsellors who can support you over the phone and in person.

Devizes, Melksham and Calne Breastfeeding Support, at the Lansdowne Strand, in Calne, from 1pm until 2:30pm

Bassett Breasties at the Croft Church, in Royal Wootton Bassett, from 1pm until 3pm

Birthworks Independent Midwife, at Marlborough Playhouse, from 1pm until 3pm

All groups are run as drop-ins, with no need to book.

Today's (Monday 12th October) local support options:

West Swindon Family Hub, at Toothill Church, which runs 10am until 1pm, with breastfeeding support from from 10am until 11:30am, followed by support with choosing and using slings, with Swindon and Devizes Sling Library, from 11:30am until 1pm

Wiltshire Breastfeeding Support at The Family Hub, in Trowbridge, from 1.30pm until 2.30pm (the Hub is in County Hall, next to the library, behind the cafe area)

All groups are run as drop-ins, with no need to book.

If you need support, please do try to arrive at drop-ins at least half an hour before the end of the session, so that you get adequate time with a volunteer.
