We are excited to team up with Thriving Through Venture for an epic charity challenge!
This September with the help from our friends at Land & Wave we are taking part in a 13k coastal walk with an optional 5k kayak for the super adventurous. 🌊
But we can’t do this alone and want to welcome individuals & teams to join us! 🙌

Come and discover more about our Aspire Post-16 Programme 🎉
It's been an incredible year for our Post-16 programme and we want to share it with you.
Next Tuesday (23rd June), join us for a celebration where you'll see first-hand what our 16-19 year olds have been working on - from handmade bags created through our sewing workshops to enterprise projects, vocational skills and real-world experiences.

What to expect:
✨ Discover how Aspire prepares young people for work, further education and enterprise
🛍️ Browse and buy unique student-created products
☕ Chat with our team over tea and coffee
🎪 Carnival games and fun activities

Real World of Business! 🍽️
Recently, our Engage Alternative Provision students gained some honest insight into what it really takes to run a restaurant when they heard from the owners of The Ridge in Swindon.
Luke Jacobs shared the challenges and rewards of the hospitality industry - from managing staff to dealing with supply chain issues to keeping customers happy.
Sessions like this are gold for our young people. They're building key employability skills - communication, resilience, and problem-solving - while getting a genuine understanding of what the workplace looks like and what employers are looking for.

Huge thanks to Luke and The Ridge team for taking the time to share your expertise and inspire our students. We really appreciate it! 🙌 We're also hopeful this connection could lead to work experience opportunities for our young people in the future. 🤝

Sewing Skills & Sustainable Style! 🧵✨
Last week, our students took part in an inspiring two-day sewing workshop with the incredibly talented Ronni.
From learning how to confidently use sewing machines to exploring creative upcycling, they transformed old jeans and curtains into stylish, fully lined bags. Each one is unique, practical, and beautifully made. We are thrilled that many of these bags are already being used in day-to-day life!

It was brilliant to see our students discover they could create something functional and beautiful from materials that could have been destined for the bin. Huge thanks to Ronni for sharing her skills and inspiring our students to create, reuse, and take pride in what they make. We can't wait to see what they design next! 💚

Functional Skills Success! 🎉✨
Huge celebrations this week - We're incredibly proud to share that one of our Discover students has successfully passed their Functional Skills exams in both Maths and English! 👏
The student said, "I feel so proud of myself." A fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work, determination and commitment to learning.

This is a brilliant example of how education doesn't have to follow a traditional route to be effective. With the right support, environment, and encouragement, learners can thrive and achieve meaningful qualifications in ways that work for them.

With Ronnie leading the way, our talented students have transformed old jeans and curtains into beautiful, fully lined bags - sustainable, stylish, and genuinely impressive work!
✍️Creative journeys are underway
Students have started working towards their Bronze Arts Award in Creative Writing, unleashing their imagination and building confidence through storytelling.
🎓Building bright futures
Alongside their Level 2 King's Trust qualification, students are developing key employability skills, exploring enterprise ideas, and preparing for their next steps.

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚✨
During Mental Health Awareness Week, our young people shared important conversations about what "good" mental health really means.
Together, they explored how mental health can feel at different times, what challenges can look like, and how we can support ourselves and each other to make positive choices.
Their ideas were brilliant:
🌿 Taking time away from technology
🚶 Getting out into nature
👥 Spending time with supportive friends
💬 Talking openly about how we're feeling
It was fantastic to hear such thoughtful, honest reflections from our young people. These conversations matter.
On the Engage programme, we're proud to create a safe, open space where young people can talk honestly about life's ups and downs. We encourage them to reflect, build understanding, and feel confident about where they can turn for help and support when they need it.
Mental health awareness isn't just for one week – it's something we prioritise all year round. 💚
