Today's spotlight is on Engage Alternative Provision!
As the countdown to the new academic year begins, we're reflecting on the many successes, milestones and memorable moments from last year. ☀️

This year, our Engage students had an huge variety of real-world experiences!
They got hands-on with cooking skills including a Christmas dinner, learned car maintenance under the bonnet, grew vegetables at the allotment, and ran three successful product Fayres. They tried circus skills, visited Butterfly World and REME Museum, explored financial literacy with NatWest, and celebrated with kayaking adventures. (and much much more!)

From practical skills to outdoor experiences, every activity was designed to build confidence, resilience and help our young people discover what they're capable of.

Today, we look back at some highlights from Discover Personalised Tutoring!
While our Youth Development centre remains a little quieter over the summer, we're taking the opportunity to celebrate the successes of the past year. 🌟

This year, our Discover students worked with experienced tutors in one-to-one and small group sessions tailored to their learning needs.

From practical activities like learning fractions through baking, to creative writing workshops, to focused exam preparation - our students engaged with learning in ways that worked for them. Many successfully passed Functional Skills and GCSE exams and built genuine confidence in Maths and English.

Working at their pace, in a supportive environment, made all the difference.

The summer holidays give us a chance to reflect on the achievements and highlights that made last year so special. ✨
We're incredibly proud of what our students accomplished and the progress they made throughout the year. As we prepare to welcome everyone back, we're revisiting some of our favourite moments from each programme.

Today we are celebrating our Aspire Vocational 16-19 Programme!
They attended networking events with local employers, took part in enterprise projects, developed vocational skills, and explored different career pathways.

Whether preparing for employment, further education, or starting their own enterprise – our young people developed their skills and confidence.

Do you know someone aged 16-19 who would benefit from extra support and a smaller environment to prepare for their next steps? We'd love to hear from you!

Connect in Action 🌿⛳
New experiences, new discoveries, new confidence.
One of the great things about Connect is when the young people get the opportunity to try new activities.

First time at the lakes 🌊
One young person discovered how calming the lakes are and the positive impact they have on wellbeing. Sometimes the best mental health support comes from nature and taking time to slow down. They're already keen to go back.

First time at golf ⛳
Another participant had a brilliant time trying golf for the first time. The focus, the outdoor space, the new skill - it all came together to create a really positive experience.

These moments matter. When we match activities to what young people are interested in and ready to explore, that's when real growth happens. Adventures, new experiences, building confidence - this is Connect Therapeutic Mentoring in action.

About Connect:
Connect supports young people aged 5-18+ with social, emotional and mental health needs through tailored one-to-one sessions with specialist mentors. Every activity is designed around the young person's interests and what helps them thrive - whether that's exploring nature, trying new hobbies, building skills, or simply having time in a safe, supportive relationship.

End of Term Kayaking Adventure! 🚣

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of term! Our students had an amazing time out on the water last week, enjoying a kayaking session packed with fun, laughter, and plenty of amazing jumps into the lake! From building confidence and teamwork skills to simply enjoying the sunshine and trying something new, it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and supporting one another.

There were lots of smiles, splashes and memories made that we'll be talking about for a long time!
A brilliant end to a successful term—we're so proud of all our young people and everything they have achieved this year. Well done, everyone! 👏
