Did you know your child could be entitled to free bus travel across Wales? A free cinema ticket for their carer every time they go? Discounted access to swimming and the gym? Easier parking wherever you go?

Most families we speak to have never heard of half of these β€” and that's exactly why we created Just ASC.

Just ASC is Adenydd's brand new project helping families of children with Additional

Learning Needs access the Additional Support and Concessions they're actually entitled to. Blue Badge. Free Bus Pass. HyntCard. Access Card. CEA Card. Passport to Leisure. Swansea Disability Register. And more on the way.

These things exist. Your family deserves them. And we want to make sure nobody misses out just because they didn't know where to look.

Head to the link below to find out more β€” and share this with every family in Swansea who needs to see it. πŸ’š

Have you ever been told you're too sensitive? Too angry? Too needy? That you just need to try harder, listen better, be easier to get along with?

What if those things weren't personality flaws β€” but survival responses?

This carousel breaks down 5 trauma responses that adults carry with them, often without ever knowing that's what they are.

People pleasing. Aggression and defensiveness. Hyper-independence. Brain fog and spacing out. Shutting down completely.

They all look like something else on the surface. Easygoing. Difficult. Strong. Lazy.

Switched off. And because they look like character traits, people get judged for them β€” sometimes their whole lives.

But in reality, they're the nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do to keep someone safe.

Understanding this doesn't mean nothing has to change. It means the change can start in the right place β€” with compassion, not criticism.

That's what Adenydd and the Act Now. Not in a Minute campaign are here for. πŸ’š

Save this post, and share it with someone who needs to see themselves a little more kindly today.

What happened to you as a child didn't stay in the past. For a lot of people, it followed them.

Maybe it shows up as feeling overwhelmed when you really don't want to be.

Shutting down when things get hard. Always being on edge, always waiting for something to go wrong.

That's not weakness. That's not you being dramatic. That's your body remembering.

Nearly half of all adults in Wales β€” 47% β€” have experienced at least one Adverse

Childhood Experience. And those experiences can show up in adult life as anxiety, depression, and physical illness. Not because something is wrong with you. Because something happened to you.

But this isn't the end of your story.

Healing can start now. Support is here. And you don't have to figure it out on your own.

Adenydd and the Act Now. Not in a Minute campaign are here for families across our community β€” because childhood trauma shouldn't last forever. πŸ’š

If this landed with you, share it. Someone you know might need to see it today.

50% of people have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience.

That's not a small statistic. That's half the people you know.

ACEs β€” neglect, abuse, growing up in an unstable home β€” don't just affect how a child feels. They change how the brain develops, how the body responds to stress, and how a person moves through the world for years afterwards.

The long-term consequences are real. So are the pathways to healing.

New article is up on the blog β€” everything you need to understand ACEs, their impact, and what actually helps.

This Volunteers' Week, we want to celebrate someone who means the world to us. ⭐

Leanne first came to Adenydd as a mum β€” she joined our Feeling Just Right project, wanting to learn more, wanting to do better for her little one.

And then something beautiful happened.
She gave back.

Leanne started volunteering with Clwb Calon and she brought every bit of that warmth with her. She's nurturing and kind in a way that you can't teach β€” the kind of person who just knows how to make a child feel safe and seen.

She went from a mother keen to learn, to a leader keen to teach. And that journey?

That's what Adenydd is all about.

We believe that when families feel supported, they grow. Leanne is living proof of that.

Diolch o galon, Leanne. You are a superstar. πŸ’šπŸŒŸ

This Volunteers' Week, we want to talk about Matthew. ⭐

Matthew volunteers with our Clwb Calon and Calon y Gymuned projects β€” and he is exactly the kind of person that makes Adenydd what it is.

He'll do anything. Set up the room, make the cuppas, take on the jobs nobody else fancies. But it's the stuff you can't put on a rota that makes him special.

He notices the parent sitting on the edge. He gets down on the floor with the kids.

He's playful and gentle and the children absolutely love him β€” and so do we.

Volunteering isn't always about the big moments. Sometimes it's about just showing up, caring about the people in front of you, and making someone feel like they belong.

Matthew does that every single time.

Diolch o galon, Matthew. Adenydd wouldn't be the same without you. πŸ’šπŸŒŸ

It's Volunteers' Week β€” and we want to take a moment to celebrate someone truly special. ⭐

Meet Nia β€” our volunteer hero. πŸ’š

Despite being only 18 and about to sit her A Levels, Nia has given her time, her energy and her heart to both Clwb Calon and Adenydd. She has volunteered for every stay and play session we've held, and has shown up for so many of our Coffee and Chat sessions too.

And when we say she's a natural with the children β€” we really mean it. There isn't a single child she's struggled to bond with. She connects with them effortlessly, with warmth, patience and a genuine joy that the children absolutely feel. πŸ₯Ή

Her favourite thing? Making and playing with ooblek β€” obviously. πŸ˜„

For someone so young, Nia is absolutely incredible. She is adored by the children, respected by the families, and cherished by our whole team.

We are so proud of everything she's already become β€” and so excited to see where she goes from here. πŸ’™

Diolch Nia. From the bottom of our hearts. Clwb Calon and Adenydd wouldn't be the same without you. πŸ’š
