Sunderland Voluntary Sector Alliance Supporting the voluntary and community sector in Sunderland

Sunderland Voluntary Sector Alliance has been formed by the sector themselves, working in partnership with a wide range of services across the city. The Alliance is in place to support voluntary and community sector organisations with charitable purpose and operating in Sunderland to grow and is resourced for public benefit. The Alliance is a recognised route for local commissioners and national f

We’re proud to celebrate recent funding successes supporting Penshaw Community Centre πŸŽ‰
Thanks to successful grant applications completed by Sunderland VSA, new opportunities are being created for the local community β€” from hands-on Men’s Shed workshops to essential winter warmth packs and creative projects like Light Bites.
Every pound secured helps strengthen community connections, tackle isolation, and provide practical support where it’s needed most.
A huge well done to everyone involved in making this happen β€” and thank you to the funders for investing in grassroots community action πŸ’›

πŸ’™ Celebrating Sunderland’s Unpaid Carers πŸ’™
Today, we recognise and celebrate the incredible unpaid carers across Sunderland who provide vital support to loved ones every single day.
From helping with daily tasks to offering emotional care and companionship, unpaid carers are the backbone of our communities – often balancing caring responsibilities alongside work, family life, and their own wellbeing.
πŸ‘ Your compassion, resilience and dedication do not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do.
We also want to shine a light on the amazing organisations across Sunderland that stand alongside carers, offering advice, practical support, and a listening ear. Services make a real difference – helping carers feel seen, valued, and supported when they need it most.
🀝 Together, we can continue to build a community where carers are recognised, supported, and empowered.
If you or someone you know is an unpaid carer, remember: you are not alone, and support is available.
