Adult and children's social care is hard to get right and the overspend is worrying. We believe at Making Care Fair that the solutions must be done alongside those who need the services.

We've long-campaigned for changes to be made to Carer's Allowance – in particular its cliff-edge. A system which Martin Lewis has previously called "fundamentally unjust". πŸ‘Ž

As it's Carer's Week, here's a reminder of what's happening with the Government's review of the over 200,000 cases affected, with debts set to be potentially reduced, cancelled or refunded for around 25,000 unpaid carers. ⬇️

There's a secure and easy hotline that can help check if a suspicious call was genuine. The number is 159 and is operated by Stop Scams UK. ☎️

So if you receive a call from your 'bank' that you think doesn't feel quite right, hang up immediately and dial 159. You'll be connected directly to your actual bank, which should then be able to advise whether the call was genuine or not.

More than a million calls have been made to 159 since its launch.

Spread the word! πŸ“£
