Southend City Rotary joined forces with Hadleigh Castle Rotary to Litter Pick at Southend Hospital. A great haul with 15 sacks collected.

When community groups and organisations volunteer their time, we’re always grateful for the extra helping hands!

Recently, members of the Southend City Rotary Club kindly offered their time to carry out a litter pick around the grounds of Southend Hospital - and we welcomed them with open arms.

Our grounds and estates teams do a fantastic job across all our sites, but additional support from the community makes an even bigger difference.

Wednesday 19th August, 22 of us visited the Southend Pier Museum and were treated to 2 talks. Steve Ellis described diving down to the 17th century wreck of the London which lies just off the end of the Pier. This wreck is as significant as the Mary Rose.
This was followed with a talk by Trustee Richard Brown taking us through the history from the original wooden structure, up to today. Both talks were fantastic.
This Museum is a hidden gem, free admission and is a must to visit. It is tucked away under the Pier station. The passion of those present shone through.
