British Heart Foundation have launched an initiative to provide a FREE defibrillator to community groups, subject to certain criteria

⚽️⚽️ Ralph Harrold - Southend Manor FC - Supporting our charity ⚽️⚽️

Our charity is very proud to be the sponsor of Ralph Harrold at Southend Manor FC for this season

Yesterday, Ethan and I popped along to meet Ralph and watch Manor's Thurlow Nunn First Division South Game against East Thurrock Community.

Going into the game, Manor were just outside the relegation zone whilst East Thurrock were 3rd in the League

After a fantastic, battling performance Manor ran out 2-1 winners.....and Ralph scored the winner to complete a perfect day

We are so proud to sponsor so many local non-league players (11 players across 10 teams). Although these sponsorships are in the name of the charity, they are all paid for by the Lansley family so no money is taking out of our charity's funds

There is an added poignancy to Ralph's sponsorship as he has also previously played for our charity football team - Carli Lansley Foundation Charity FC

❤️❤️ Wing Walkers - 16 May 2027 ❤️❤️

Yesterday, I was delighted to attend the offices of Nicholls Law Solicitors, where two of their staff - Olivia Rockenbach (r) and Mihail Tsvetkov (r) - will be taking on the Wing Walking challenge on 16 May 2027 to raise awareness/donations for our charity.

On that date, we have slots for 8 wingwalkers - 4 at 10am, 4 at 12pm - and we still have a few spaces available

These wingwalks are all done in conjunction with The Wing Walk Company and there are some restrictions on who can do the challenge - you must be aged 18-80 and weigh no more than 14st - and their website contains lots more information:-

❤️❤️ ECG Screening Day - Saturday 30 January - USP College (SEEVIC Campus) ❤️❤️

The online booking system for our next screening day - on 30/1/2027 at USP College (SEEVIC) - will be going live in next couple of weeks

These screening days are held in conjunction with Cardiac Risk in the Young

This screening day is a special one as it is being held in memory of two people who sadly passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition - our Carli and Gideon Baws

We already have over 90 names on our 'priority list' and we will be contacting them all shortly with a link/password so they can book themselves in at a time that suits them (the screening day runs from 09.00-12.30 and 13.30-15.45)

🍛🍛 Charity Curry Night 2027 - Thursday 14 October 🍛🍛

Just a couple of weeks after we held our charity's annual curry night at Tandoori Parlour - which is always such a successful evening - am delighted to announce we have already booked a date for 2027

Thursday 14 October

Long, long way off but if you have joined us before and want to return, or you want to try the "all-you-can-eat" buffet, please pencil the date in the diary

Next year, we will be aiming for 150-200 people on the evening

** A Football Odyssey **
** Challenge #2 - Southend United (2015-) **
** Dan Cox **

Part of our 'football odyssey' challenge is to get a photo with every player Ethan and I have watched play for Southend United Football Club since we were season card holders in 2015

Last weekend, we managed to grab a photo with our 57th current/former Southend United player, when we caught up with Dan Cox

Welsh Under-21 International Dan signed for Southend in June of this year, having previously played for Derby County, Enfield Town, Walsall, Wealdstone and Solihull Moors.

These photos with our banner are designed to raise more awareness of our charity and encourage even more young people to get their hearts checked

⚽️⚽️ Oli Coker - Southend United Football Club - Supporting our charity ⚽️⚽️

Last week, the kids and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Oli Coker outside Roots Hall.

Our family/charity have long had a strong connection with the club and in years gone by we've had a direct link to the players (through our patrons, Adam Barrett and Jason Demetriou, as well as some truly supportive players such as Ryan Leonard, Cav Miley, Jack Bridge to name just a few).

With such an influx of new players, it is fantastic that (through a mutual friend) we have been able to contact Oli directly to maintain those strong links with the squad. Oli, who has followed our charity for years, has kindly agreed to act as a liaison for us to arrange lots more photos with the Southend guys to help us raise more awareness of our free heart checks

As all Southend fans know, Oli is truly a local lad who has been at the club since the age of 8. Oli made his professional debut in October 2020 and has become such an established, and vital, member of the squad that he was named Club Captain for season 2026-27

Part of our 'football odyssey' challenge is to get a photo with every player Ethan and I have watched play for Southend United since we were season card holders in 2015

Yesterday evening, we managed to grab a photo with our 56th current/former Southend United player, when we caught up with Josh Coulson as his Newmarket Town Football Club side visited Concord Rangers in Isthmian League - North.

2-1 down at half-time, Newmarket fired in 4 second half goals to run out convincing 5-2 winners and go 2nd in the League, only behind leaders Gorleston on goal difference

In a career spanning almost 20 years, Josh has played for clubs including Cambridge Utd (324 appearances) and Leyton Orient (133 appearances)

In June 2021, Josh signed for Southend United where he made 9 appearances before joining Kings Lynn. He signed for Newmarket in 2025 and is currently their Captain

❤️❤️ Matt Zandee - Marathon Runner ❤️❤️

Our charity would like to say a HUGE "Well Done" to Matt Zandee, who completed the Amsterdam marathon on Sunday, raising awareness/donations for our charity.

Incredibly, this is just the 1st of FOUR (!!) marathons Matt aims to run for us over the next 12 months

In 2027, he will also be representing us at the London, Brighton and Berlin Marathons

To date, Matt has already raised £390 (plus gift aid) for our charity.

⚽️⚽️ Carli Lansley Foundation FC vs. St Pauli - 8 November - Garons ⚽️⚽️

After a really stop/start 2026, our charity football team - Carli Lansley Foundation Charity FC - are scheduled to be back in action on Sunday 8th November, playing St. Pauli over Wellbeing Garon Park (2pm ko)

Bar will be open during/after the match, and platters of free sandwiches will be available for both teams, officials and spectators after the game
