What a fantastic night at The Curzon in Colchester last week!! Our latest networking event was a great success, bringing together an incredible mix of talent from the film and TV industry. From directors and producers to actors and makeup artists, it was amazing to see everyone connect and share their passion for filmmaking.

Check out these highlights from the evening – the energy was electric, and the conversations were truly inspiring. We’re all about building a strong, supportive community, and this night was a perfect example of what makes Essex Film Collective so special.

The judges have decided the final films for our Short+Sweet Essex FILM FESTIVAL 2024. It was a tight race with several judges struggling to choose. However, they made their decisons and these are the films that will be screened at the Gala Final on Sunday 16th June, at Unit Twenty One, Pier Approach, Western Esplanade, Southend-on-Sea SS1 2EH. Screening this Thursday at the beautiful Electric Palace Cinema in Harwich!

Screening and Q&A with Atlantic rower and photographer Heike Lowenstein, Women in Boatbuilding founder Belinda Joslin, Dr Anna Sturrock, aquatic ecologist at University of Essex & X Trillion director Eleanor Church.

We went to see this beautiful, powerful and epic documentary by EFC member Eleanor Church a couple of weeks ago in Colchester. Film has the power to change hearts and minds and Eleanor’s film does just that!

The film is currently not available online so don’t miss the opportunity to see it screened.

To run alongside submissions opening for ESSEX INTERNAIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, we will be discussing all things film fesitvals!

We will also be joined by The Mayflower Underwater Studio who will be here to talk about the practicalities and possibilities of filming in the blue.
There will also be relaxed networking drinks and 5 minute member spotlights.
