🌟 Thrilled to have attended the Annual Public Meeting of Citizens Advice Southend as the appointed representative from Southend-on-Sea City Council! It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with Chief Executive Officer Ms. Riz Awan, Paula, the dedicated trustees, and other engaged participants.
A special thank you to our guest speaker, The Mayor of Southend-on-Sea, Councillor Ron Woodley, for sharing insights and supporting the vital work that Citizens Advice does in our community. It’s inspiring to see so many people come together to listen and talk about important issues and the services that help our residents.
Looking forward to continuing our work together to ensure everyone in Southend has access to the support they need! ❤️

Citizens Advice Southendare working with Citizens Advice Essex to deliver a new service in Southend to tackle fuel poverty together. We know that in January 2024, we will see an increase with the cost of fuel. Speak to the team and see what support is available. We look forward to hearing from you!

Citizens Advice Essex are working with Citizens Advice Southend to deliver the out of hours expanded services. With this new service we can reach those that are unable to attend our local offices across Essex during the day.

Today at our AGM we discussed the impact on the Cost of Living. We know that there will be an increase in 5 areas - Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Claims; Energy; Energy Debt; Charitable Support and Food banks; Council Tax. We will continue to support the community of Southend City with a way to move forward. Thank you to the Mayor and the Leader of the Council to show there support today.

With the cost of living increasing everyday and the impact this is having on individuals wellbeing - it is vital that you get the right help!
BREATHING SPACE ....... a standard breathing space is available to anyone with problem debt. It gives legal protection from creditor action for up to 60 days. The protection includes pausing most enforcement action and contact from creditors freezing most interest and charges on their debt.
Our IMA debt specialist can apply for breathing space on your behalf.

Citizens Advice Southend are assisting a number of Ukrainian families in Southend - if you are a host family or on the family scheme please do come in for support with Immigration advice, Banking, National Insurance and applying for benefits. You will also be given a donation (depending on availability) to assist you while your applying for your benefits.
We are at 1 Church Road Southend on Sea SS1 2AL - no appointment is necessary.
We have already helped over 135 families and we look forward to seeing you!
