New Men’s Table Tennis Group🏓

We’re starting a new table tennis group for men aged 18 and over at Brinkburn CIO in South Shields.

All abilities are welcome, whether you’re a regular player or completely new to table tennis.

Starting Thursday 1st October
10am–12pm every Thursday
Brinkburn CIO, Harton Lane, South Shields
Suggested donation: £2.50 per person

A relaxed and friendly group to get active, have a game and meet new people.

September is a good time to highlight the support available to men across South Tyneside.
Men’s Space provides a friendly, welcoming place for men aged 18+ to get out, meet people, take part in activities and have a chat.
You don’t have to be struggling with your mental health to come along. Sometimes getting out of the house, meeting new people and having something to look forward to can make a real difference.
We’re here to help men feel less isolated, more connected and supported.

🌿 Men’s Nature Walk – Tomorrow! 🐦🌊

Just a reminder that our Men’s Nature Walk is on tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September! 🥾🌳

Come along for a relaxed afternoon of coffee, conversation and nature. We’ll enjoy a gentle walk, take in the beautiful views, and hopefully spot some birds and wildlife along the way. 🐦🌿

☕ 1:00pm – Coffee & chat
🥾 1:30pm – Gentle 30-minute nature walk
📍 Meet at Barnes Institute, 15 East Street, Whitburn

It’s open to all men aged 18+, and no special fitness is needed.

Last Friday, our guys had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Jarrow Archaeological Mission at Jarrow Hall, and we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved! 🏺⛏️

Lucy was absolutely fantastic, giving our guys the opportunity to get hands-on and wash some of the archaeological finds. She also took the time to answer all the amazing questions they had about the history, the discoveries and the site.

It was brilliant to see their enthusiasm and curiosity, and getting the chance to have a look around the archaeological site itself made the whole experience even more special.

A massive thank you to Lucy and the whole team for being so welcoming, sharing your knowledge and giving our guys such a memorable and interesting day. It was great to see history brought to life! 👏😊

Our outdoor Jarrow Lawn Bowls at West Park is coming to an end for the season, but we’re keeping the bowls going by moving indoors to a new venue! 🙌

Every Wednesday, 2.30pm – 4pm at the Community Room, ACTS, 29 Beach Road, South Shields.

Come along for a cuppa, a chat and a bit of company. We’ve got chess, Scrabble, dominoes, darts and plenty of other games to have a go at.

Or just come along, sit down and enjoy a brew and a chat.

A HUGE thank you to Green Fingers Garden Centre for kindly donating compost to our Men’s Space Allotment Drop-In Group. 💚

Thanks to your generous donation, we’ve been able to fill some of our planters and get them ready for growing a little autumn harvest. 🍂🥕🌱

It’s fantastic to see the allotment taking shape and to have everyone getting involved, getting outdoors and growing together.

🌿 Men’s Nature Walk – What a Great Afternoon! 🐦

Last Thursday’s our Men’s Nature Walk was a great success! The group enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach and through the park, spotting lots of different birds and wildlife along the way. 🐦🌊🌳

The weather was lovely too, making it a perfect afternoon to get outdoors, enjoy nature and have a good chat and some great company. 😊

Our next session is next Thursday, 3rd September, and we’d love to welcome anyone who would like to come along and give it a try!
