On Sunday our good friend John Paul from Life Vineyard church (the church we planted from) joined us to share some stories of healing from the Bible, and from his own life. He showed us that Jesus still heals today, and has given us (his disciples) his authority and his spirit to do this in his name. Listen again via our website: www.thebeaconvineyard.co.uk/talks

“Praying to God at its simplist is asking God for things. Prayer at its best is a two-way conversation with God, it’s relational. Prayer at its deepest is communion, it’s silent, loving relationship with God.”

This week, we looked at a deeper way to pray and contemplate God in the everyday experiences of life - from sitting by the sea, to looking at a painting, to helping those in need.

On Tuesday evenings, our Life Group has been talking these questions through and learning to pray more effectively. Why not get in touch to find out more, we’d love to hear from you.

Last Sunday we were delighted to welcome Peter, from Hospitality & Hope, South Tyneside to our Beacon Breakfast.

Over the past 2 years it’s been wonderful to see God’s generous and compassionate heart in action as we collect food donations for their foodbank once a month at our breakfast. On Sunday it was great to hear from Peter about the work they do, the impact our donations have, and to pray for Peter, the team and the community.

Looking for some good news in a world that can often feel heavy and hopeless?

This Sunday we will be sharing stories of hope, as we look at the Bible - and our own experiences - to see how God cares for us and brings healing to our lives.

We invite you to join us at 10:45am at Ocean Road Community Centre. We'll be in the downstairs youth cafe, with hot drinks, pastries and a warm welcome.

When we pray to God, we want him to answer our prayers straight away, and when he doesn't, or we feel he's not heard us, that can be really difficult. The Bible is honest about it - the Psalms, the song-book of the Bible, are often deep laments or cries over the struggles of life. Jesus himself experienced this.

This week, we were challenged to think about God's silence being different to his absence, and that perhaps he's trying to grow and mature our faith at times, even if we'd rather he didn't. Instead of asking "why?", try asking "where are you in this situation Lord?" and see how he responds.

On Tuesday evenings, our Life Group has been talking these questions through and learning to pray more effectively. Why not get in touch to find out more, we'd love to hear from you.

Having space to grow in our faith, build community, and worship the Lord can be hard in today's world. So we need to be intentional to make it happen. Coming to a church service on a Sunday morning can help.

We invite you to join us at 10:45am at Ocean Road Community Centre. We'll be in the downstairs youth cafe, with hot drinks, pastries and a warm welcome. Mike will be sharing stories on how Jesus heals today.

Praying to God can be hard, yet it can be so rewarding and builds a closeness in our relationship with him.

Our minds can be full of distractions. We might not know what to pray for, or how to pray it, or when/where to pray. But it's often much simpler than we think...

On Tuesday evenings, our Life Group has been talking these questions through and learning to pray more effectively. Why not get in touch to find out more, we'd love to hear from you.

Last Sunday as we celebrated 2 years of The Beacon Vineyard church, Mike led an all-in service, where children and adults learnt together about the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and how he's God's promise for those who believe in Jesus Christ.
