A huge thank you to one of the parents supported by our Prevention Team, who has generously handmade and donated a wonderful collection of emotional support gifts. 💛

From worry worms and pocket hugs to a wide range of thoughtful handcrafted creations, each gift has been made with kindness, care and the hope of bringing comfort to a child or young person who may be having a difficult day.

We're incredibly grateful for this donation and the thought that has gone into every item to help others feel supported, valued and less alone.

We're teaming up with South Tyneside SENDIASS for School Exclusions Week, Mon 2- Fri 6 November.

Join SENDIASS and our Prevention team on board our Key Community Bus Thursday 5 November for information, advice and support around SEND, school attendance and exclusions.

Whether you're looking for guidance, have questions about your child's education, or simply want to find out what support is available, pop along for a chat with the team in a friendly, informal setting.

The reality of child poverty in South Tyneside was brought into sharp focus at the recent Reducing the Cost of the School Day event, attended by our Poverty Prevention Team Leader, Marie.

Held at South Shields Town Hall, the event brought together professionals from across the education and community sectors to explore practical ways of reducing the financial pressures faced by families and ensuring every child can fully participate in school life.

Some of the statistics shared about child poverty in South Tyneside were truly shocking and highlighted the challenges many local families face every day. They also reinforced the importance of working together to remove barriers that can prevent children and young people from reaching their full potential.

At Key, we're committed to supporting families through our Poverty Prevention Service and collaborating with local partners to tackle the causes and impacts of poverty across our communities. 💛

We're currently recruiting for two roles within our Ofsted-registered supported accommodation services:

💛 Progression Coach
Build trusting, meaningful relationships with young people, support their safety and wellbeing, and help them develop the skills, confidence and stability they need as they move towards independent adult life.

🌙 Night Security & Concierge Worker
Provide a calm, consistent and reassuring overnight presence for young care leavers aged 16+.

Askins Lodge is having a refresh, with newly painted green walls bringing a sense of calm and connection to nature. A lovely new seating nook has also been created, giving residents another spot to hang out and spend time together with one another or staff.

As a Progression Coach, you'll support people to identify goals, overcome challenges and move towards greater independence.

As a Night Security & Concierge Worker, you'll help create a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors, providing a professional and reassuring presence overnight.
