**VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - SHEPPEY**
Unit Health and Safety Coordinator
Do you have an eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a passion for supporting youth development? Sheppey Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets are looking for a dedicated volunteer to join their team at TS Kent as their Unit Health and Safety Coordinator (UHSC)!
From sailing and powerboating to fieldcraft and target shooting, the cadets take part in incredible, confidence-building adventures. To make those exciting challenges possible, they need someone to help us maintain our robust safety standards and keep the administrative systems running smoothly.
What the role involves:
- Digital Systems: Maintaining our unit SharePoint safety site and HSE action tracker.
- Risk Assessments: Coordinating annual activity reviews alongside our expert instructional leads.
- Specialist Oversight: Supporting their boating, firing range, and minor boat repair workshop safety logs.
- Unit Standards: Helping organise statutory certificates, fire safety checks, and training assurance logs.
Don't worry, you don't need to be an industry-qualified health and safety inspector! They already have digital systems and templates in place, plus full training through and direct support from the MSSC Safety Assurance Officer.
