Motherhood is a beautiful transformation—but let’s be honest, it can also feel incredibly lonely.

Between the sleepless nights, navigating postpartum body changes, and learning to accept a completely new version of yourself, it is easy to feel isolated. If you are feeling this way, please know: you are not alone, and you don’t have to do this by yourself.

Following a deeply impactful and successful first year, Diversity House is thrilled to open registrations for Cohort 2 of our Swale Mums Peer Support Circles! 🌸

What is Swale Mums Peer Support Circles?

Designed for expectant mums and new mothers with children up to 2 years old, this project is a warm, safe, and judgment-free space to share experiences, build friendships, and focus on your perinatal and postnatal mental health.

We offer a blended mix of interactive in-person, outdoor, and online sessions tailored to help you bond with your baby and love yourself again:

🧠 Mental Health & Wellbeing: Group and dedicated 1-to-1 support sessions.
👶 Baby Bonding: Both group and 1-to-1 baby massage classes.
💃 Joy & Movement: High-energy Dance Fit sessions to boost endorphins and mindfulness for deep relaxation.
✨ Guilt-Free "Me Time": We take mums out for outdoor refreshing activities while your little ones are safely looked after at Diversity House by our wonderful, DBS-checked childcare team.

How to Join or Support us:

Our mums from the last cohort told us they looked forward to these sessions every single week. Now, it's time to welcome our next group.
Know a mum who needs this? Please tag them below or share this post to your network. A simple share could completely change a new mum's postpartum journey.

🚴‍♂️ Ditching the Car Keys for a Healthier Mind and Body 🌿

At Diversity House, we have always been passionate advocates for sustainable living, active travel, and community well-being. But cycling is so much more than just a way to get from A to B—it’s a powerful investment in your physical and mental health.

Studies show that regular cycling can:
✅ Boost cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, and flexibility.
✅ Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression by releasing feel-good endorphins.
✅ Improve sleep quality and boost overall immune function.
✅ Save money on fuel and significantly reduce your carbon footprint!

To prove just how rewarding it can be, take a look at the video below! Watch one of our amazing Diversity House community members swapping their steering wheel for handlebars, choosing a healthier, happier morning commute over sitting in traffic. 🚲💨

Ready to start or get back into your own cycling journey? We’ve got you covered!

We are thrilled to partner with Cycling UK for the Big Bike Revival programme!

We are hosting FREE bike workshops to get you moving safely and confidently.

Don't let mechanical worries or a rusty bike hold you back. Spaces are limited, so secure your spot today!

On 8th June, Bantu Arts and Diversity House performed at Parkview Care Home, Gillingham. The performance was well received by the residents, staff and families.
Echoes of our Ancestors is a project by Bantu Arts. The project is funded by the Arts council England for the purposes of using music, storytelling, dance and songs to promote the mental wellbeing and social connections of residents in four residential homes in swale and medway.
We thank Arts Council England for their sponsorship.

A wonderful morning of creativity, conversation, and connection!

Our participants enjoyed drawing, colouring, and sharing the stories behind their artwork. From unicorns and nature-inspired designs to personal reflections, everyone expressed themselves in their own unique way.

Creativity brings people together, promotes wellbeing, and reminds us that every story matters.

The momentum is real! 💥 Session 2 of "Forever Active BAME: 50+ Strength, Balance, and Independence" did not disappoint.

Getting older doesn't mean slowing down—it means moving smarter and standing taller. Seeing our 50+ community show up, push their boundaries, and support one another is proof that age is just a number when you have the right mindset.

Why are we focusing so hard on strength and balance? Because they are the foundation of ultimate independence. It’s the confidence to move without fear, the stamina to enjoy everyday life, and the secret to adding true vitality to our years.

Consistency is where the magic happens. It’s not about a one-time workout; it’s about choosing yourself, session after session.

Once again, a massive thank you to Forever Active Kent for funding this vital initiative.

Together, we are creating a stronger, more connected, and thriving community right here in Medway.

We are just getting started, and the energy is contagious. Keep moving, keep thriving!

Stronger for Longer. Always.

Think getting older means slowing down? Think again.

We are thrilled to share a glimpse into our latest session of "Forever Active BAME: 50+ Strength, Balance, and Independence."
(Check out the videos and photos below to see the amazing energy in the room!)
Physical activity is about adding life to our years. As we cross the 50+ milestone, maintaining strength and balance becomes our ultimate superpower. It is the key to remaining independent, confident, and capable of taking on everyday life with ease.

But here is the real secret: consistency is everything. Staying active isn't a temporary phase—it's a lifelong commitment to yourself.

We are incredibly proud to have this vital initiative funded by Forever Active Kent, helping our community stay robust, connected, and thriving.

Remember: Never Stop Moving. We are Stronger for Longer! 💪✨
