A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful Hair & Hounds Panto Group, who chose to support SATEDA through this year's pantomime and raised an amazing £2,500 for women and families rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse.

For cast member Eva, who suggested supporting SATEDA alongside her sister Delilah, the reason behind their choice was deeply personal.

“Leaving an abusive relationship isn’t simply walking away. It’s rebuilding your entire world from the ground up.”

Eva shared how, as a child, she watched her mum slowly rebuild her life, and how the kindness and support of local charities helped her family through that chapter.

She also reminded us that £2,500 isn’t just a number. It can mean practical support, safety, healing, and having someone beside you as you begin again.

Perhaps our favourite words from Eva’s beautiful message were these:

“It fills my heart with pride knowing our pantomime family has been able to play a small part in someone else’s new beginning.”

And that is exactly what this incredible fundraising will do.💛

Thank you, Hair & Hounds Panto Group, from all of us at SATEDA, for believing in our work and for helping us continue to support women and children across Kent.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, you are not alone.

Women's voices have always been part of SATEDA.

From the very beginning, our charity has been shaped by the experiences of women who understand the realities of domestic abuse first-hand.

Today, we continue to work with survivors to ensure their voices help shape our services, our strategy and the support we provide. Our team's lived experience gives us a deeper understanding of the challenges women face and what they need to move forward.

Because the people who have lived through abuse are experts through experience.

SATEDA. Led by women. Designed with women. 💜

Abuse can make you question what you’re entitled to, what you deserve, and whether anyone will believe you.

It can take many forms, including financial control, threats, intimidation and blaming you for someone else’s behaviour.

But their words are not the truth.

You deserve safety. You deserve respect. You deserve support. And none of this is your fault.

SATEDA supports women experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse, offering a safe, non-judgemental space to be heard, believed and supported.

You don’t have to face it alone. We believe you. We are here. 💜

Recovery isn't only about talking about what has happened to you. It's also about rebuilding confidence, connection and the freedom to enjoy new experiences.

Last month, our clients took part in a beeswax wrap-making session, co-run by Fancy Tat. Women spent the afternoon getting creative, learning a new skill and connecting with one another, while making reusable wraps to take home.

Thank you so much to Fancy Tat for sharing your time and skills and co-running such a lovely session with us. 💜

⚠️ Emergency alerts can be an important way of keeping people safe, but for some women experiencing domestic abuse, an unexpected alert could create a serious safety risk.

A phone may need to stay undiscovered from the person abusing them. An alert could make that phone visible, audible or known.

If you have a phone that needs to stay undiscovered, swipe for information on how to turn off Extreme and Severe Alerts.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, SATEDA is here to help. You can call us on 01795 417251, use our live chat, or book an online drop-in at sateda.org.

💜 You don't have to face domestic abuse alone.

A handbag can hold so much more than everyday essentials. It can hold hope. 💜

Thank you to the Connecting Women Network for donating these beautiful Love Grace handbags to SATEDA.

The Love Grace handbag appeal was created by Grace Millane's family in her memory, turning unimaginable loss into a legacy of kindness. Their mission is simple but incredibly powerful: to provide women affected by domestic abuse with a handbag filled with everyday essentials and thoughtful treats, reminding them that they matter, they deserve kindness, and there is hope for a safer future.

That mission resonates deeply with us at SATEDA.

These handbags will be given to women we support across Kent, Swale and Maidstone who have had to leave abuse, often with very few belongings of their own.

We are honoured to continue Grace's legacy, standing alongside women as they escape abuse and begin rebuilding safer, healthier futures.
