Some of our members popped over to Wolverhampton Ki Aikido Club to welcome Sensei Rudge back on the mat last week.
Great to see everyone!

An amazing evening on Thursday, we had few visitors from the other Midland and Shrewsbury Ki Aikido Clubs, and my first class back after having had hip surgery, a lovely welcome back to teaching at my wonderful club

We love this!

Now be completely relaxed, add a bit of one point and ki, and ta daaaa - we've nailed it!

Lots of courses for all levels on the national calendar to look forward to next year.
Always great to catch up with our fellow Ki Aikido clubs on the mat - and off the mat over a rather nice cuppa.

A downloadable calendar for 2027 is now available on the website, which includes all HQ courses and the dates for the annual Paris area course.

These courses are open to members only. Interested but not sure where to start? Use our club finder to locate your nearest club and get in touch! You can also message us here, and we'll help you out 😁

Another rather good night this week practicing extending to our partner through a range of 2nd form techniques, and having built up our extension, we finished off with a bit of tanto.
Here our Sensei demonstrates 6th form shiho nage, 7th form sankyo, and gokyo - the gokyo immobilisation is perfect, as demonstrated by uke's raised legs.

Some reading for the weekend.....
Ki Aikido does look very impressive, but it's more about balance, coordination and calmness.
This article explains more about what we do.
Now you've read about it, experience it for real, and join us on Wednesdays 7.30-9.30 at the Castlefields Community Hall.

We provide a list of articles which act as an Introduction to Ki Aikido. They explain some of the concepts and answer some commonly asked questions.

Bringing Ki into daily life.
When an 8kg golden eagle is placed on your arm, simply relax, extend and think 'unbendable arm'.
(Admittedly, the chances of having a golden eagle placed on your arm are extremely slim, but you should never rule it out.)

You could spend another Wednesday evening sat in traffic in the gyratory by the railway station. (Those that know, know.)
Or you could turn off at New Park Road, spend a couple of hours with us learning how to co-ordinate mind and body through the art of Ki Aikido, meet great people (we might be slightly biased there), have a nice tea break, and when class has finished, actually drive through the traffic lights when they turn green.
Get in touch via email [email protected], or call in at the Castlefields Community Hall on Wednesdays - we practice 7.30-9.30.
