🏆 Two arena victories in a row for Connor! What a talent! 🥳🔥

Connor joined a little too late to catch the leaders in the Grand Prix, though, so the overall title will come down to a 🎄 Christmas head-to-head speed chess showdown between Krish and Muhammad! ⚡♟️

Who will be crowned Grand Prix champion? It's going to be awesome! 👀🏆

Last weekend, three of our juniors entered the Birmingham Junior Open, with two making their tournament debuts! 👏

⭐ A***n stepped up to a higher section this time and scored an excellent 2/5, showing great determination against tougher opposition.

⭐ Lucas also scored 2/5 in his very first chess tournament — a brilliant start to his competitive chess journey!

🥉 A special congratulations to Vinnie! He also made his tournament debut and scored an impressive 2.5 points, earning himself a bronze medal! 🥉🎉

A fantastic effort from all three boys. We’re incredibly proud of you — keep up the great work! 😀♟️

There have been some fantastic rating gains 📈 for our juniors in the newly released October ECF rating list!

Krish remains top of the standardplay list but Aditya and Malcolm both improved this month and are steadily closing the gap.

Krish and Aditya have both continued to make rapidplay gains, but Muhammad remains out in front at the top of the rapidplay list.
👏 A special mention also goes to Ellis, who gained an impressive 21 points during the month. Well done also to Daniel who breached 1500 rapid rating.

We have a new highest-rated junior blitz player!

Muhammad's outstanding performances at the Newport Blitz events have seen his rating rocket past Malcolm and reach an incredible 1969! 🤯

Muhammad now claims top spot as Shropshire's No.1 Blitz Player.
Well done, Muhammad! 👏👏

🚀 And Muhammad isn't the only one making huge gains. Aditya's blitz rating went through the roof, climbing by a massive 184 points – the 7th biggest rating increase in the whole country! And in a shocking turning of events Aditya has overtaken Krish in blitz????

The progress these juniors are making month after month is incredible. They're getting stronger, more experienced and more dangerous at the board every time they play!

Adults… beware! 😄♟️
