Frankwell Little Boro’ WI was founded in 2007 by a group of like minded women who thought it was about time we had a new WI in Shrewsbury! Originally, the group met up in ‘The Bucks Head’ Frankwell but soon member numbers outgrew this location and in January 2008 and for the next 12 years we were based at The Darwin Community Centre in Frankwell. We have

recently relocated to our new and permanent location ‘Central’ on the first floor of the Shrewsbury Baptist Church, Claremont Street. This is a lovely bright hall with excellent, modern facilities including a lift which we hope will enable us to welcome more members. We are part of The Shrewsbury East Group – which consists of 5 WIs Acton Burnell, Cressage, Sundorne, Withington and of course Frankwell LB. We offer friendship, good company, guest speakers, crafting, entertainment, trips, events, competitions, raffles and lots of lively banter with a great atmosphere. We have a lot of fun together and enjoy taking part in many of the events on offer from Federation and Group Meetings.
