👋 Meet Dawn Reed — Operations Support Manager for the South

Dawn’s journey with CMA began as a client. After spending much of her adult life in debt, she reached financial crisis point in 2008 following the birth of her first child. In 2012 she received support through her local CMA Debt Advice Centre which completely changed the direction of her life.

By 2014 Dawn had begun volunteering alongside her debt adviser, and in 2015 she trained as a debt adviser herself. She became debt free in 2019 and now uses her experience to support centres, volunteers and clients across the South.

In 2024 she joined CMA as Operations Support Manager, helping equip local centres and delivering training on:
• Budget coaching
• Supporting vulnerable clients
• Debt advice foundations

Dawn says: “I love seeing the amazing work going on in my region to support people in their communities and also meeting a variety of people through my training role.”

Her lived experience gives her a unique understanding of the challenges many clients face — and a real passion to help people find lasting freedom from debt.

Over the next few months we will be looking at our work across the UK, starting with our centres in our South of England...

Over the next few months we will be looking at our work across the UK, starting with our centres in our South of England area. We will be highlighting the people, communities and life-changing support taking place every day.

Across the South we currently have 20 centres supporting people facing debt, financial pressure and uncertainty with free, compassionate, face-to-face debt advice. From Cornwall to Surrey, Dorset to Wiltshire, local CMA teams are walking alongside people and helping them find freedom from debt and hope for the future.

📌 Current South centres include: Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Bradford-on-Avon, Corsham, Fareham, Hook, Launceston, South Wiltshire, St Austell, Taunton, Tiverton, Torquay, Trowbridge and Woking.
