O God,
You are Al-Wadūd, the Loving One.
Before we knew how to love, Your love surrounded us.
Before we called upon You, Your mercy reached us.
When we fall, You open the door of return.
When we forget, You remind us with gentleness.
Fill our hearts with a love that heals rather than harms,
a love that serves rather than controls,
a love that seeks truth rather than praise.
O Al-Mujīb, the One Who Responds,
Hear the prayers spoken by our lips
and the prayers hidden within our hearts.
Respond to the cry of the lonely,
the grief of the broken,
the fear of the anxious,
and the hope of those who continue to trust despite their struggles.
Respond to us in wisdom,
not merely according to what we want,
but according to what is best.
O Al-Walī and Al-Mawlā,
Our Protector,
Our Guardian,
Our Supporting Friend,
Do not leave us to our own weakness,
our own pride,
or our own confusion.
Stand beside us when we feel abandoned.
Strengthen us when we grow weary.
Guide us when we lose our way.
Make us protectors of one another,
a shelter for the vulnerable,
a voice for the oppressed,
and a source of comfort for those who carry hidden burdens.
O Al-Wāsiʿ, the All-Encompassing,
Expand our hearts beyond fear.
Expand our understanding beyond prejudice.
Expand our vision beyond our own desires.
Help us to see the humanity in one another,
the wisdom hidden within our trials,
and the opportunities for goodness hidden within every day.
Make our hearts vast enough for compassion,
our minds vast enough for learning,
and our souls vast enough for gratitude.
O Al-Ghanī, the Self-Sufficient,
Free us from dependence on what is temporary.
Teach us that true richness is not measured by wealth,
status,
possessions,
or applause.
Teach us contentment.
Teach us gratitude.
Teach us to value what cannot be bought:
truth,
wisdom,
character,
peace,
and love.
O Al-Mughnī, the Enricher,
Enrich our hearts with faith,
our minds with wisdom,
our words with kindness,
and our actions with purpose.
Enrich our homes with peace.
Our communities with understanding.
Our nations with justice.
And our world with mercy.
Help us use every blessing,
every talent,
every opportunity,
and every resource
to benefit others and bring light where there is darkness.
O God,
Make us people of love rather than hatred,
hope rather than despair,
truth rather than deception,
service rather than selfishness,
and gratitude rather than complaint.
Guide us to become living reflections of Your beautiful attributes:
loving,
compassionate,
generous,
patient,
just,
forgiving,
and sincere.
May our lives become a source of healing for others.
May our hearts remain connected to You.
May our words bring peace.
May our actions bring benefit.
And may our journey always lead us closer to the Light.
