We were delighted to see so many collaborators at our tenth anniversary celebrations.

Our wonderful social media co-ordinator, Monserrat, got this great snap of Simon Duffy and Andy Kershaw on their way out.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate Family Voice's 10th Birthday!

We had a great day; it was wonderful to hear from all the speakers who shared their stories from over the years and see so many familiar faces. We had a great time and hope you did too.

Thank you for all your support; we wouldn't have been able to reach 10 years without such a fantastic community supporting us. It is such an important time to stay connected and engaged; we want to build on this success and continue to make an even stronger community working together with one another.

We can't wait for you all to join us on this journey.

Earlier this year, Family Voice Sheffield connected with Simon John Duffy from Citizen Network Research - turns out he's virtually our neighbour!

Citizen Network do amazing work across the world on human rights; they're a global network promoting equality and citizen action.

We were invited to an evening with them back in March about Neighbourhoods of Care and how to support citizenship and inclusive neighbourhoods:

We are so appreciative of the time and support Simon has been giving us, as a philosopher, an activist, a customer and a neighbour. Simon and Kate (one of our Co-Directors) are now planning to run a public event on local citizenship and democracy - so watch this space!

Sheffield, you have truly amazed us! 🧡

This month we received £3,000 sponsorship from Lightrock Power for something very special - a kickboxing class for a group of women at Family Voice who appreciate a safe space to build their strength and confidence.

The individual recognised the power of this class and went out of his way to fund it. This kind of support literally changes lives. Huge thanks to Lightrock Power for making this possible. 🙏

We run around ten classes and activities. If your business would like to sponsor a class or support Family Voice & Ammi's Kitchen, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch!

Thank you, Sheffield; we couldn't do this without you 🧡

For SAHM, this time we've thought of sharing a great award-winning short documentary, “Love Notes To Nature: A reflection of land and borders along Stanage Edge”

The short documentary follows Sheffield multi-disciplinary creative practitioner Dal Kular as she walks and climbs across Stanage Edge (Peak District), reflecting on her relationship to land and the natural world. Weaving themes of ancestry, displacement, and belonging, Dal explores how her heritage and inherited histories of migration have shaped her connection to nature – and how reclaiming that connection through the practice of walking the land can be a powerful act of healing and resistance.

Sheffield, you have genuinely astounded us 🧡

This month on the Family Voice Sheffield Local Giving fundraising page, 4 new people set up a monthly donation to Family Voice & Ammi's Kitchen, along with 4 new people who made a large one-off donation.

These donations come at a time when all local organisations are struggling with funding. In order to keep going, we'll have to diversify our income - and you lovely folks have proved to us this month that this is absolutely possible!

As valuable as the money is, the feeling of support we receive, knowing that people want to help us continue this good initiative going on in Sheffield, means even more.

Thank you. We couldn't do this without you.
