The weather being hot staying indoors with children can be so stressful for mothers.

Sheffield Crucible theatre made it possible for UWA families to spend a beach 🏖️ time with their children outside. It was fantastic what a quality time and also therapeutic moments.
Children in particular were very happy and after they went for a show. The testimony from the children highlighted an incredible experience and emotional connection with the parents and other people outside their homes.

UWA Lift Up project provides opportunities for underprivileged women to learn basic skills and understand workplace culture in the UK. We provide culturally inclusive training and education support and also provide awareness on job opportunities. In this session participants were introduced on basic business awareness skills.

UWA Swahili social project is a partnership initiative with Sheffield Crucible Theatre the aim is to alleviate loneliness and isolation for families and to improve quality of life for underprivileged families.
The initiative supports families to come together with their children to have quality time and do some activities together with the focus to improve family cohesion.

UWA thanks Sheffield Crucible’s Simon and his team for accommodating UWA families in this activity, the empowerment and inclusion means a lot to these families.

As you can see the photo every one is happy and showing off their art talents
These are fantastic skills that mothers and children learn together.
And at the end have food and laugh together.

Thanks to Utopia Theatre for a brilliant, warm welcome to our women, children and young people today. Our first summer creative workshop - we’re looking forward to more drama, dancing, music - so much talent to explore! Thanks to funding from Sheffield Creative Communities Programme, part of Sheffield City Council’s Culture Showcase, funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund as part of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda, and is supported by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

An exciting first meeting for our new creative project Mjasiri (Brave) last week! Thanks to Mojisola Kareem and Rose Farrar from Utopia Theatre and Simon Marshall from Sheffield Theatres for coming get to know us. Looking forward to singing, dancing, and learning new creative skills together. Mjasiri is funded by a Creative Communities Fund, part of Sheffield City Council’s Sheffield Culture Showcase.

Our commitment to women's health saw us implementing courses and working with likeminded organisations to educate our women on subjects like menopause and so many more health conditions facing the modern woman.
