Let’s Talk About Loneliness 💬

This week (15–21 June 26) marks Loneliness Awareness Week, a campaign led by Marmalade Trust.

This year’s theme, Giving Loneliness a Voice, reminds us how important it is to talk openly about how we feel.

Many of us experience loneliness at some point, but it can be hard to say out loud. By sharing stories and listening without judgement, we can help people feel less alone.

Everyone can take part, whether that’s:
• Starting a conversation
• Hosting a small event
• Reaching out to someone
• Sharing a post

Last week, we were pleased to join Hentons for their bowling event at our Gathering Ground.

It was great to be alongside teams and representatives from Virgin Money UK, Barclays, FW Capital, Allica Bank, Hentons, Hentons Corporate Finance, Pratap Partnership, MD Law, and Taylor & Emmet.

Our Chair, Lisa Whitworth, also got involved for a few games, proudly representing Age UK Sheffield.

The afternoon was a brilliant mix of networking and fundraising, all in support of a fantastic cause – with the sun making a welcome appearance for most of the event.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise vital funds for our charity.

We’re looking forward to seeing how the finalists get on in the next stage of the competition.
