A useful reminder of some of the items that foodbanks need, which you might not expect.

As always, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated recently, whether at a community collection, directly to us at our HQ, or via Just Giving - you are all fantastic!

When you think of donating to your local food bank, pasta and beans might spring to mind.

Though these staples are always appreciated, food banks also need some more unexpected but essential items - take a look! 👀

If you're able to, please pick up a few of these for your local food bank the next time you're at the shops.

Thank you to everyone today who contributed to our regular collection for S6 Foodbank! It was a quiet day on South Road but we got a very good response, with £50 cash and 9 full crates of food and toiletries donated! 😍

New councillor Andy Davies Walkley Greens was also out on Manvers Road before the collection, with a couple of volunteers, asking for people's concerns and priorities to inform his hard work in council. 🤝

While a certain group were protesting outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in the City Centre today, we were helping our community. We will continue these collections, organise litter picks and speed-watches, hold community events, and more! As we say to anyone who listens, foodbank use is an income issue - when people have enough money in their pockets to feed their families, they no longer need to rely on foodbanks.
